It has been a wonderful month of creativity with Winterings Guest Designer Jill Cornell. Her projects with our Winterings collection have been nothing short of inspiring. So it is a little bittersweet that today is her post. We hope that you have enjoyed getting to know her a bit and have gotten some great ideas from her...
LYB: Describe your style.
JC: I love to use clean, linear designs and embellish with feminine details - doilies, lace, sewing, etc.
LYB: Do you use any tools that are not specifically designed for scrapbooking?
JC: Once upon a time, I thought I was going to be a quilter. But after lots of tears and a baby quilt that took years to finish, my sewing machine became my number one used scrapbooking tool.
LYB: Events or moments scrapbooker?
JC: I do both! I love creating multi-photo layouts that highlight all the holidays and seasonal activities we do as a family but sometimes I'll have that one great photo that I'll use to highlight one specific moment.
For my last project, I wanted to create a home decor piece that I could put on my fireplace mantel. We had a blizzard here right before Christmas and my girls had so much fun playing outside in the snow.
I printed my favorite Instagram photos to 1.5" and decorated a very old coin folder that I had in my stash. This was a great opportunity to use up my favorite bits and pieces in the Winterings collection. I punched patterned paper circles, layered die-cut snowflakes, and embellished with stickers, pearls and sequins.
