We are shivering just a bit (in a good way) as we introduce Winterings Guest Designer Jill Cornell. We think you will love her practical and creative approach to scrapbooking. And, we cannot wait until she shares a project or two with her adorable twin girls. But, first let's get to know her a little better with a few questions...
LYB: Computer or handwritten journaling?
JC: I almost always hand write my journaling. I will type my journaling up on a very rare occasion. My dear grandma passed away almost four years ago and anytime I come across something that has her handwriting on it, my heart just does a little flip flop. There's something so endearing about seeing the written word in a time of so much technology.
LYB: Are you a morning bird or night owl?
JC: I used to be neither - ha! But, since having kids I have definitely become a night owl. It's my only time to scrap.
LYB: How long does it typically take you to complete a layout?
JC: Well, if I want to get anything accomplished, I won't let myself take more than 2 hours total. I try to work quickly and most often can complete a layout in an hour.
Tip: I took this photo outside my sun porch window on the first snowfall this winter. Most of my layouts are about my twin girls, but I wanted to capture a photo of what my view looked like at this moment in time.
I love having a peaceful moment in the morning while my home is still and it was even better as I watched the snow coming down.
I created several embellishment clusters with strips of vellum tape and patterned paper. I also love mixing and matching alphabet stickers and that's exactly what I did here.
