Biker Chick Lisa Swift shares a Winterings page for everyday scrapbooking to show how the collection can be used beyond winter's snowy days, but let's have Lisa tell you all about it...
What's not to love about neutral colors with shades of blue, brown, gray and touches of silver? Pretty, pretty! This page is about our Thanksgiving trip to PA so I used the homey and family-related embellishments, saving the pretty snow and winter-themed embellishments for another time. The circular doily pieces from the Paper Crafting Kit work well as a
"pull" for journaling tags. I cut a small portion off the top of the
circle to make it flush with the top edge of the tag.
Tip: Make the most of your Fresh Verse Stickers:
1 - Use parts of them and cut a 12" long Fresh Verse quote in half to make it fit the theme of your layout2 - Use the Fresh Verse stickers as flags by attaching them to a stick pin
When it came time for my title work, I inked white canvas letters so the color would stand out against the background (the white alone looked too washed out) and complement the other dark blue elements on the page. This is what the letters looked like before inking them:
I like to use wedge-shaped makeup sponges to apply ink to a project like this:
This is one of the finished letters after applying a couple of layers of ink. Instant matching title. :)
Finish the project with pearls, rain dots, and jewels to add extra dimension and detail to
chipboard pieces. Don't just stop there, pull out your ribbon and twine
and other embellishments and see what you can come up with.
