Cycling Team Member Kim Arnold share an Escape page with us today. We love how many photos Kim incorporated on her page without making it look too busy and still use so many fun elements from our Escape collection, but let's have Kim tell you all about it...
I had so many ideas for projects with the Escape range – staycation, overseas holiday, or recent roadtrip ... even non holiday projects such as beach photos and family snapshots. This range is just so flexible with it bright happy colour palette and huge range of embellishments. I ended up choosing to do a layout with a selection of favourite photos from my hubby and my recent trip to Paris and Rome.
The whole layout started when I decided that I wanted to use the “a trip to remember” chipboard piece. I then began laying down a selection of photos into a collage design, incorporating in an assortment of various embellishments that enhanced the theme of my layout. I loved the orange frame and used it to create a focal photo. I just play around with the various elements until I end up with a design that is balanced and pleasing to the eye. I always make sure there is somewhere for the title and the journaling, then, I snap a photo with my phone and remove everything before starting to stick everything down. I use foam tape to attach some of the embellishments so the layout has more dimension.
Once I have those bits and pieces attached, I add any extra elements to finish the layout off. In this instance, I thought it needed some more green, so I added the little paper strips at the top and bottom, and more grey, so I added the diecut behind the journaling element. I also added the twine bow to provide a softer element.
I love what the other girls on the Escape Cycling Team have done with this great range. Thanks Little Yellow Bicycle for having me as part of the team!
