We were so impressed with Tamara Tripodi's work with our Hello Spring collection, that we invited her back to play with our Splash collection and she has some spectacular ideas to share, but let's have Tamara tell you all about it...
*waves* Hello, LYB friends! Tamara here from the 'Splash' cycling team with a super cute project to share! Some of you may remember me from the 'Hello, Spring' cycling team! I was so excited when I was asked back for the 'Splash' collection! This kit was just SO fun to work with!
So, here's what I made. I created a fun summer themed gift set! I ordered some burlap the other day and luckily for me it came just in time for me to sew up a bag real quick. And of course no gift is complete without a card, so I made one of those, too!
Totally cute, right?! I will share some more photos and design tips along the way.
I created this little tag by stitching a piece of acetate over the base tag, leaving the top open. Fill it will some sand, then stitch it closed! Very easy and such a cool effect! The 'splash' embellishment is actually folded out a bit, which is hard to tell by the photo. Think of it being curved a bit like a rainbow. I wanted to to 'pop' out at ya! For the tag I also added some ribbon and an eyelet.
The burlap and felt flowers in this collections are FABULOUS! Such a perfect finishing touch for my burlap gift bag.
I really love how the burlap bag works with this collection. Super simple to make. Just cut two rectangles of burlap to the size you want, then zigzag stitch the edges with a coordinating thread. I also stitched on some of those cute clear fish embellishments. Tie the top of your bag with twine once it's filled with a gift.
Next up is the cute little card.
The huge variety of embellishments makes it so easy to create beautiful projects! For this card, I just started with a base and then added on the little embellishments here and there! I took a craft knife and cut along two of the 'waves' on the 'Makin' Waves' paper, curled the down a bit and then added some fish cardstock stickers to look like they are swimming along!
The vellum tape strips pretty much had me at 'vellum'. I love working with vellum and being these are all printed and very cute, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them! I pleated the green chevron printed tape and stitched over it. Then I added on the 'pool party' cardstock sticker. To finish off the card I added a sun rosette and a flower embellishment from the 'paper crafting kit'.
What do you think? I hope you've enjoyed these projects I've shared today! I will be back again with another project share soon! Happy crafting!

We'll be back tomorrow with Biker Chick Projects to share.
Take care - Liz
Wow! Wow! Wow!! This is just so dang fun!! I can't decide whether I love the tag best or the way you did the paper on the card to tuck in the fish!!! Fabulous work!!
