We are very happy to share some beautiful Hello Spring! projects from Cycling Team Member Lisa Swift. Lisa's knack for layering elements on her pages was perfect for our colletion and her bright spring page really shows our collection, but let's have Lisa tell you all about it...
Thank you to Little Yellow Bicycle for the opportunity to be part of the Hello Spring Cycling Team! I really love the fresh, fun colors in this collection and the highlight, for me, was the vast selection of embellishments. There's everything from stickers to chipboard to transparencies to bling and more! I think I used a bit of everything on here. LOL! I even layered some of the chipboard with a sticker and journaling spot to create a place for the singing bird to rest. Don't be afraid to alter your embellishments, like cutting a word sticker into a banner shape or adding a jewel here and there. Another fun embellishment is the stick pins. They're so easy to tuck here and there and are so cute when topped with a jewel. Part of my style includes sewing on most of my pages and this one is no exception. I like how the border stitching frames the entire page, drawing your eye into the central elements.
Next up is a card I made for my daughter's upcoming dance recital. I worked the design elements around the word "dance" in the text paper since that is what I wanted to focus on. I added in a couple of layered banners, an additional butterfly, a stickpin and some sewing. In order to secure the stickpin, I used a small glue dot behind the flower but I also tacked it down with two small stitches using some embroidery floss. Super easy, super quick and super simple...
My last project is a card I made for my daughter's birthday (I'm thinking she made out pretty well with this collection, LOL). This one uses the text paper as well, but from the 6x6 paper pad. I used one of the chipboard pieces as a frame and then worked the other elements around it. The pins are tucked into the felt flower and then two word stickers are layered on top. I personalized the card by adding in some letter stickers.
So, if you've had your eye on this collection, I highly recommend it. It may be named Hello Spring, but, as you can see, you can definitely use it for a lot more. :) Happy scrapping!
We have been so please with what all of our designers have created this month with our Hello Spring! collection and Lisa's work is no exception. Please visit her blog Remember the Good Times for more ideas and inspiration.
Hope you had a great holiday weekend here in the states and got to play a lot.
