I'm seeing that our Saturdays collection is just now hitting stores and we hope that our fans are going to increase their stash exponentially with this amazing collection. I am always so impressed with the collections that Sharon Kropp dreams up, but I have to say that Saturdays is one of her finest. In her words, "This is a very adult collection." It's not so much about Saturday cartoons if you KWIM, but more about documenting what you and yours enjoy. Below is my take on an "adult" masculine page.
The mix of Denim, Red and Cream is soooooooo cool. The woodgrain texture in the patterned paper is also a nice compliment to the denim bicycle paper. The Saturdays collection made a superb color palette for this photo of my husband driving a boat on a lake near our home. We had a great time and yes, it was a Saturday.
The title is a combination of Wonder & Wishes corrugated letters, My Little Shoebox Mini Alphabet Stickers and Saturdays Chipboard Pieces. I also added a bit of bakers twine from The Twinery for some added dimension and color. It's fun to add in the pops of red against the denim, brown and cream.
Like most of the Little Yellow Bicycle Collections, there is a Paper Flower Kit with this one too. The detailing on the flowers is really pretty and they even look good on a masculine page. I added a bit of sparkle with the jewel stickers and tucked a piece of chipboard behind the flower for an extra sentiment.
The Tear Out Tickets make a great layer of "patterned paper." I also layered an embossed Fresh Verse Sticker over them for extra journaling. I love how Little Yellow Bicycle adds so many precut elements to the collection that easily layer and stack. It cuts down on the time it takes to make a page, which is big bonus in my book.
In case you would like a blank palette to create a page with any of our collections, here is the sketch that goes with this page.
