2012 is going to be a great year for Little Yellow Bicycle and one of the things we plan to do is bring you more ideas from our Biker Chicks, so please check in with us each Thursday for some project inspiration.
I am kicking this new blog segment off with some simple, but sweet and sentimental card ideas with our BRAND new Paradise collection! We cannot wait for our customers and fans to get their hands on these gorgeous papers and embellishments because they are well...GORGEOUS!
For this card, I liked the idea of blocks of patterned paper with the Paradise tear-Out Ticket as the sentiment in the middle. It's simple so that the sentiment does all the talking and the only dressed up item is the big pink bow.
Instructions for 6 x 6 Paradise collection card
Score and fold 6 x 12 cardstock rectangle - use corner rounder on bottom corners
Cut 3 x 5.5 inch rectangle from the Paradise Spendid Strip Patterned Paper, ink edges and adhere to card as shown
Cut 2 x 5.5 inch rectangle from the Paradise Simple Pleasures Patterned Paper, ink edges and ahere to card as shown
Take sentiment card out of the Tear-Out Ticket Book, ink edges and adhere to card as shown
Add three tiny birds from the Paradise Fabric Favorites
Tie on big pink bow for some eccentricity and flair
Paradise Chipboard Slider Card
For this card I wanted to feature a simple element that has a fun sentiment like the Paradise Chipboard Slider, because you can move it to make it say different things. I overlapped the slider with the chipboard banner piece to make it looke like the arrow is wrapping around the slider. Then I added a simple chipboard shaped flower and some jewel stickers to dress it up just a bit.
Instructions for 6 x 6 Paradise collection card
Score and fold 6 x 12 cardstock rectangle - use corner rounder on bottom corners
Cute 5.5 x 5.5 inch square from Paradise Teal Tapestry Paper, ink edges and adhere to card as shown
Cut 2.5 x 5 inch rectangle from Paradise Pleasant Plaid patterned paper, ink edges and adhere to card as shown
Adhere Paradise Chipboard Shape banner to the right side of the card so that it overlaps with the two patterned papers as shown
Set the sentiment on your chipboard slider and adhere as shown
Add Paradise Chipboard Flower as shown
Add faux stitching with gel pen
Adhere jewel sticker in top right hand corner of card and center of chipboard slider
I have one more project idea to share. Add some Kraft paper to your Winter Twig and you will love the result of how the beautiful icy coolness of the patterned paper blends with the warm earthy kraft tones. Please visit my blog My Little Sketch Blook for closeups and a sketch of this project.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. We will have some more wonderful projects to share from Guest Designer Jenny Chesnick and then maybe a training reel next week. Stay tuned....
