Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! I am so happy to share this amazing cardset from our Tiny Princess/Baby Saurus Guest Designer Laura Vegas!
When you see the amazing cards she has created for us, you're going to want to pull your supplies out and get BUSY!!!
But...before we show you the cards, here's a little more LYB Q&A with Laura!
LYB: Any unique tips or techniques you use?
Laura: When I use stickers, regular or cardstock stickers, I like to adhere the sticker to white cardstock first. Then I cut out around the edges, and use pop dots to adhere them to my layouts. Just a quick way to add more dimension to your projects.
LYB: Biggest scrapbooking ‘mishap’?
Laura: I havn't had any bad accidents in the scraproom. But anything with glitter will turn into a "mishap" with me. Even if it's pre-glittered product.
LYB: Favorite scrapbook magazines?
Laura: Creating Keepsakes, of course :)
[NOTE: Laura is a member of CK's Dream Team - and her studio is also featured in CK's new Creative Spaces special issue. You can see some of Laura's work for CK by clicking this link!]
LYB: Favorite die cutting system?
Laura: The only die cutting system that I have worked with over the last few years has been the Making Memories Slice. Which is a great machine! I recently purchased the Silhouette, and am really loving it!
LYB: Morning bird or night owl?
Laura: Complete night owl. You will never find me in bed before 1:00 am, no matter how early I have to get up the next day.
(Makes me yawn just to think about it!) Thanks Laura! And now, here are those cards I told you about!
_____________________________________________
Hi everyone! Laura Vegas here, and I am so excited to be the guest designer for Little Yellow Bicycle this month! I have always been a huge fan of their products. They fit my style so well and I find the collections so easy and fun to work with. The new Baby Saurus and Tiny Princess collections are no different. Today, I have a set of cards to share with you, using the Tiny Princess collection. I chose a standard 4.25" x 5.5" size for all my cards.
"Itty Bitty Princess"
I cut a few strips of green and yellow pattern paper, and adhered them to the white card base. I trimmed the pink crepe paper sticker to the length of my card, and added it to the top of the card. After doing some machine stitching around the edges of the papers, I added my chipboard princess sticker to the right hand side. I used a Fresh Verse sticker and a Canvas Sticker to create my sentiment. Some string and a few Jewel Stickers finish off the card.
Supplies Used:
Double Sided Textured Cardstock
Crepe Paper Lace Stickers
Chipboard Sticker Embellishments
Fabric Favorites
Fresh Verse Stickers
Jewel Stickers
"Adorable Sweet Girl"
I cut a strip of pink pattern paper and the purple pattern paper, and adhered them to the white card base. After machine stitching along the edges, I trimmed down a Canvas Border sticker and added that to the center of the card, to cover up where the pattern papers meet. A few of the Fresh Verse stickers make up my sentiment, with a cute Chipboard birdie sticker next to it. I tied some string around the card, and stapled the sides. If you want to be sure your string won't slide around on the card, simply make a small notch on either side of the card. This gives the string a place to rest, so that it doesn't move around.
Supplies Used:
Double Sided Textured Cardstock
Canvas Sticker Borders
Chipboard Sticker Embellishments
Fresh Verse Stickers
"Soft & Sweet"
I cut strips of the yellow pattern paper and the number pattern paper, to adhere to the front of my white card base. I had cut my number paper a little too short, so I simply matted it on some purple pattern paper to make it the correct size. I added some machine stitching, before moving on to the embellishments. I cut off a few pennants from the canvas banner border sticker, and adhered those across the card towards the bottom. I trimmed down a Fresh Verse border sticker, to fit the length of my card, and still keep the "soft & sweet" text. I used a scalloped edged border punch on some green pattern paper, and added that above the fresh verse sticker. A few Jewel stickers finished it off.
Supplies Used:
Double Sided Textured Cardstock
Canvas Sticker Borders
Jewel Stickers
"It's A Girl"
I used a piece of green pattern paper to cover the entire front of my white card base, and rounded off the corners before doing some machine stitching around the edges. I adhered my Fresh Verse sentiment to a scrap of white cardstock, and trimmed right around the edges. I then used pop dots to adhere this to the center of the card. I trimmed a small strip of the striped pattern paper, and adhered it below the Fresh Verse sticker. A few dimensional stickers finished off the card.
Supplies Used:
Double Sided Textured Cardstock
Dimensional Stickers
Fresh Verse Stickers
"Smile"
I cut strips of the yellow pattern paper and the polka dot pattern paper, and adhered them to the white card base. I rounded off the top corners, and then did some machine stitching around the edges. I trimmed down the purple chipboard sticker, to fit the width of my card, and adhered it where the two pattern papers meet. I added the fabric "smile" banner stickers for my sentiment.
Supplies Used:
Double Sided Textured Cardstock
Fabric Favorites
Chipboard Sticker Embellishments

Very cute cards! I bought doubles of everything from the Baby Saurus line to make two scrapbooks for my niece and her mom. This is my first "great nephew". I hope you are going to do some scrapbook pages with that line also. I'll keep watching!
