It's hard to believe it (yes folks, we're pinching ourselves) but it's supposed to get up to 70 degrees here in *sunny* Connecticut today, and the front page of Tuesday's Hartford Courant featured the Spring Flower Show at the original Elizabeth Park. Here are a few of my favorites (photo credits: Cloe Poisson/Hartford Courant)
...beautiful! That last one to me looked like it could have been pulled right out of the Elizabeth Park collection - right down to the umbrella! Totally my favorite. Love it!
Dare we believe Spring is finally here? Pffft. This is Connecticut. The cold weather will be back this weekend. But we have learned to enjoy it as it comes! The sun is shining and the windows are OPEN and we're not thinking about tomorrow!
And today I have another spring treat for you! A new post from Elizabeth Park Guest Designer Michelle Lanning! We'll start you off with a little more LYB Q&A so you can get to know Michelle a little bit better!
LYB: What's your favorite color to use on a page?
Michelle: Kraft, is that a color?
LYB: How long does it typically take you to complete a layout?
Michelle: A couple hours, sometimes more. And if I am lucky, it could be less.
LYB: Do you use any tools that are not specifically designed for scrapbooking?
Michelle: I sometimes use a plate as a template for a circle!
LYB: What's the oddest embellishment you've ever used?
Michelle: A cupcake liner. So far at least!
LYB: Chronological or out of order?
Michelle: Out of order!
A cupcake liner. Really? How did you use it? Did you make a flower? (Maybe if we ask real nice we can get her to send us a picture!) And now...here's Michelle!!!

Hi there! So glad to be back here at the LYB blog. I have a few cards to share with you today. I chose a standard card size of 4x5 ½. With the soft colors of this line, I decided to use 2 shades of gray as the base.
Card #1 Love Generously, Care Deeply, Speak Kindly
For this card I started with a darker gray base. I added the fabric frame to the left side of the horizontal card. I then trimmed the cardstock stickers and adhered them with 3 Dimensional squares. For a whimsical look I added the fence, birdhouse and butterfly. I finished the card off with some pink twine.
Here are the detailed supplies I used:
LYB:
Dimensional Pop-Up Stickers
Cardstock Stickers-Favorite Pieces
Fabric Frames
Chipboard Stickers
Jewel Stickers
Other:
The Twinery Twine
Cardstock: American Crafts
Card #2 Be Happy Card
[Size: 4x5 ½.] For this card I started with a LYB Doily (love them). I allowed some of the doily to be folded over the top of the horizontal part of the card. I then trimmed to my liking a tear out ticket and adhered it to the right side of the card. To finish the card off I added a mini banner (trimmed to fit the card). The Be Happy Chipboard Sticker overlaps the ticket and the doily. Two butterflies finish off the card.
Supplies:
Paper Doilies
Cardstock Stickers
Chipboard Stickers Embellishments
Fabric Favorites
Mini Banners
Tear Out Ticket Book
Other:
Cardstock: American Crafts
Twine: The Twinery
Card #3 Hello also, I love you
I used a lighter color gray for this card. I fell in love with the umbrella and rainboots featured in this line and I knew I just had to use them. I started by using the canvas sticker border for the top of the card. Using 3 dimensional squares I adhered then rain boot and umbrella. I then added on of the layered felt flowers under the umbrella. For a whimsical look, I added the small epoxy circles for some colorful raindrops.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock Stickers – favorite pieces
Epoxy stickers
Canvas stickers
Layered Felt-ribbon slider
Chipboard Stickers-embellishments
Other:
Cardstock: American Crafts
Twine: The Twinery

Love your work, Michelle, and can't wait to see more. As a CT native, I know that YOU KNOW that more cold is coming before it is done with us this winter---LOL! Enjoy it while we can.
