Yesterday I promised a fun first post from our Elizabeth Park Guest Designer for March, the talented Michelle Lanning and now the time is here!
First we want to give you a chance to get to know Michelle better with a little LYB Q&A!!
LYB: What was your biggest scrapbooking "mishap"?
Michelle: Haha, I think all my early pages with the shaped photos. You know the heart-shaped ones? Hehe.
LYB: What are your favorite scrapbook magazines?
Michelle: Really, I love them all! I get inspiration from all of them.
LYB: What is your favorite die cutting system?
Michelle: Well, I love my Cricut Expression!
LYB: Morning bird or night owl?
Michelle: Definitely a night owl!
LYB: Computer or handwritten journaling?
Michelle: Handwritten. Although if the layout calls for it, I will type something up.
And now, here's Michelle!
For this layout I started with a 12x12 piece of Kraft cardstock. For the pattern paper portion of the layout I used the 6x6 Decorative Edge Cardstock Paper. I cut the bottom portion of them and only used ¾ of the sheet.
After adhering the photos to the pattern paper sheets, I used the grey canvas sticker border underneath the two photos. To frame the photo of the paints, I cut the turquoise fabric frame and tucked the ends under the pattern paper piece. The other half was placed under the main photo.
I think the most fun was putting flowers together from the Paper Flower Kit. Instead of making another folded flower, I used the turquoise folded piece flat and added it to the top left corner of the layout.
Supplies Used: Tear Out Ticket Booth pieces, Flower Button Dots (layered), Canvas Sticker Borders, Paper Flower Kit, Decorative Edge Cardstock 6x6, Jewel Stickers, Fabric Frames. Other: American Crafts Cardstock, American Crafts Thicker Alphas.
