http://contest.mylyb.com/2010-booville-contest/index.html
Entries are coming in now. Can't wait to share with you. Winner announced October 31st.
What is your favorite part about Halloween? The costumes, the parties, the trick or treating, the pumpkin carving, or is it all about the candy??? I love the candy...but I have to admit, it really bugs me to have all of that sugar in our house...
So, how is the decorating for Halloween coming along? I am always amazed how people go " all out " decorating their homes. I prefer to put a few pumpkins on the front porch, along with a beautiful fall wreath...keeping it simple. However, this year, I have this really cool CANVAS piece to add to my decor.
Biker Chick, Greta Hammond, created this masterpiece. The canvas frame is 16" x 12". She showed it off at CHA.
Here's the supply list:
- 16" x 12" canvas frame
- BV 12x12 Purple Microcheck-2 pieces-background
- BV 12x12 Orange Microcheck-Moon
- BV 12x12 Collage Stripe-iron gate strip
- BV 12x12 Green Poison Dots-title and door
- BV Jumbo Chipboard Shapes...haunted house, bat
- BV 4x12 Lace Cut Cardstock Lg. black swirl
- BV Epoxy Stickers-
- BV Clear Cuts-ghost, cat, happy halloween, stars, clouds
- ribbon
SHARE what you love most about the Canvas project above and I'll pick three of you to win the Boo-ville products that it takes to make the Canvas project (with the exception of the canvas piece and the ribbon) You'll need to get your own canvas frame and ribbon. Everything else will be supplied. Have fun with the jumbo chipboard shapes. You can distress them for a very cool look.
Next week, we'll be sharing an online class with you. Please check back to see how to make fun and easy Halloween Cards.
Have a bootiful evening!
Lori
I really like the solid black chipboard pieces - very striking - and can be adapted to many uses.

I love that she made a decoration that can be put out every year! The details are great. The web by the door, the freaky cute little cat, the glitter in the windows..I love it!

I love the spider webs in the corner of the door. Decorating the house with fake webs is one of my fav things to do for halloween and I just LOVE that you added it to your canvas!

This canvas totally rocks! I really decorate for Halloween. It's my favorite holiday. Love seeing the kids using their iminagation with their costume. Thanks for the chance to add to my decorations.

I am new to decorating for Halloween so I would LOVE to win this prize :) What I love about the project is that it IS a canvas so it isn't stuck in an album, but can be brought out year after year :)

I do the pretty simple thing for Halloween: a grapevine wreath wrapped in black and orange ribbon, a couple of pumpkins on the front porch. One of our neighbors, however, sets up a whole cemetery scene. It's awesome...and then does a whole Christmas scene right after.
As an FYI, the "click here" link in the posting isn't working...or at least it's not working for me.

I just love Halloween. I am one that goes all out to decorate the inside and outside. I even have a Halloween village to set out which everyone loves! So to add one more project to my decor is even more fabulous!! I just made the LYB "spooky" banner so LYB is a must! They would match perfectly...Thanks for the chance to win.

Hi (or Boo!)
I love how you've used a flourish / swirly piece(s) to represent fog!
What great vision to take something so 'formal' and so non-Halloween and use it in this way! Nicely done Greta!

The Halloween scene was great. It had just the perfect blend of some items related to Halloween: the black cat, the scary house with ghost & cast iron fence, the large bat & orange moon. Nice job.

I love the Halloween scene and home decor is so cool to make for this holiday. A few years back I had such fun using LYB to create some great projects that I lovingly set out now every Halloween. They were inspired totally by the LYB website!
