Today we have some cute card ideas with our Hello Spring! collection from Biker Chicks Tania Willis and Vicki Boutin. Tania shares some of her ideas on the cards below...
These two little cards are the result of just using up the leftover bits and pieces that I had scattered about my desk after completing the other projects I’ve shared this month.
They are a little thinner and taller than your standard A2 card because I’ve used patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad as the base of these cards. I simply chose two 6x6 papers that had a tone on tone (somewhat solid) pattern on the back so any writing done inside the card would be easier to read.
To assemble, just fold the 6x6 patterned papers in half to form the card bases, then add two or three stickers/fabric embellishments along with a sentiment sticker from the Fresh Verse sticker pack.
You can easily duplicate these two cards in 10 minutes or less!
HS – 304 6x6 Paper Pad
HS – 135 Favorite Pieces Stickers
HS – 140 Fresh Verse Stickers
HS – 220 Fabric Favorites
HS – 197 Jewel Stickers
Vicki Boutin made this adorable card with the clear cut shape sentiment in the middle and the large chipboard butterfly. She did a wonderful job of combining many of the colors in our Hello Spring collection.
Tomorrow we have a training reel to share from Tania Willis, so stay tuned..
Have a wonderful day!

We are very happy to share some beautiful Hello Spring! projects from Cycling Team Member Lisa Swift. Lisa's knack for layering elements on her pages was perfect for our colletion and her bright spring page really shows our collection, but let's have Lisa tell you all about it...
Thank you to Little Yellow Bicycle for the opportunity to be part of the Hello Spring Cycling Team! I really love the fresh, fun colors in this collection and the highlight, for me, was the vast selection of embellishments. There's everything from stickers to chipboard to transparencies to bling and more! I think I used a bit of everything on here. LOL! I even layered some of the chipboard with a sticker and journaling spot to create a place for the singing bird to rest. Don't be afraid to alter your embellishments, like cutting a word sticker into a banner shape or adding a jewel here and there. Another fun embellishment is the stick pins. They're so easy to tuck here and there and are so cute when topped with a jewel. Part of my style includes sewing on most of my pages and this one is no exception. I like how the border stitching frames the entire page, drawing your eye into the central elements.
Next up is a card I made for my daughter's upcoming dance recital. I worked the design elements around the word "dance" in the text paper since that is what I wanted to focus on. I added in a couple of layered banners, an additional butterfly, a stickpin and some sewing. In order to secure the stickpin, I used a small glue dot behind the flower but I also tacked it down with two small stitches using some embroidery floss. Super easy, super quick and super simple...
My last project is a card I made for my daughter's birthday (I'm thinking she made out pretty well with this collection, LOL). This one uses the text paper as well, but from the 6x6 paper pad. I used one of the chipboard pieces as a frame and then worked the other elements around it. The pins are tucked into the felt flower and then two word stickers are layered on top. I personalized the card by adding in some letter stickers.
So, if you've had your eye on this collection, I highly recommend it. It may be named Hello Spring, but, as you can see, you can definitely use it for a lot more. :) Happy scrapping!
We have been so please with what all of our designers have created this month with our Hello Spring! collection and Lisa's work is no exception. Please visit her blog Remember the Good Times for more ideas and inspiration.
Hope you had a great holiday weekend here in the states and got to play a lot.
Happy Tuesday -

We have another awesome Hello Spring! projects to share from guest designer Wendy Sue Anderson. Wendy really has an eye for design on cards, but let's have her tell you all about her projects...
Hi again! It’s Wendy Sue, back with you again today with another fun “Hello Spring” project! You know, one of the things I love most about Little Yellow Bicycle is how there are so many coordinating options with each line. I think I mentioned that last week, but it’s really true, and it’s worth mentioning again! It just makes the whole process of creating – no matter what I’m working on…cards, layouts, packaging, whatever – go so much more smoothly and I always love the end result when everything matches perfectly!
Whenever I find myself in a creative “rut,” for lack of a better word, I always pull out a packet of coordinating items and just put together a few cards. It always kicks my mind into “creative mode,” and I always end up with a card, or set of cards, I can add to my files and use at a later date when I need a fun card to send to someone. But that’s not the only time I like to make cards. Sometimes when I have oodles of fun product I just can’t wait to look for photos to coordinate, so I delve in and put together cards. Or when I find a super fun embellishment that I just can’t wait to use, I will probably put together a fun card. So, as you can see, as much as I love (love, love, love) scrapbooking…I’m a total card-making fanatic as well!
As I was sorting through all of the bright, happy, fun “Hello Spring” product the sweet folks at LYB sent my way, I just couldn’t wait to use the felt flower stickers. I used one on my layout last week, but I just had to use them again – and that’s how this little card set came to be.
I was able to use several different papers from the 6x6 paper pad, as well as some of the journaling tickets and these super fun banner stickers too! I added a bit of machine stitching (of course) on the right side of each card. And I used pop-dots (my other addiction) to pop up the banner word stickers. I love the way these cards came together so quickly, with the same basic design and elements. I’m anxious to find an excuse to send one of these happy cards to a friend – I know it will make someone’s day very soon!

We are so pleased to share some wonderful projects from our newest Hello Spring! cycling team member Juliana Michaels. She was able to get a lot of mileage out of this collection, but let's have Juliana tell you all about it...
Working with the Hello Spring collection was an absolute joy for me! The projects seemed to just "grow" on their own due to the bright, cheerful colors and designs of each piece included in this collection. And the fabulous embellishments seemed to find their place with ease on each project!
For my first layout, entitled Hello Spring, I took one of the Clear Cut frames and trimmed it to create a larger frame for my photo. I also enjoyed mixing the Clear Cut Shapes and Chipboard Shapes to provide a bit of dimension. On several of my layouts I used the Tear-out Ticket & Journaling Book for my journaling. I am in love with these!!!
My next layout, Happy, was a real joy thanks to these adorable photos of my niece! I again used a mix of the Clear Cut Shapes and Chipboard Shapes to embellish my layout. I dressed up the large chipboard butterfly by giving her antenna created using the Hello Spring Stick Pins.
This collection has some adorable embellishments just begging to be used on an Easter layout and that is exactly what I did. I created a 2 page layout, Happy Easter, about dying Easter eggs with my family this year. The Chipboard Shapes and Fabric Favorites included some adorable bunnies and eggs that were perfect! I cut off the top and bottom of the "A Perfect Moment" Ticket from the Tear-out Ticket & Journaling Book. I then adhered the lined paper part inside the pink frame form the Chipboard Shapes to create my journaling space.
For my final layout, Celebrate, I knew I had to play with the Paper Flower Kit! I mean...how cool are these?! Tons and tons of paper flowers that you can mix and match and create your own design! I choose to lightly mist each one, crinkle it and then let it dry (with the help of my heat gun!) to give them a distressed look. I also distressed the scallop edge of the Decorative Edge paper as well. Other than using a piece of the 6 x 6 Decorative Edge Paper and the 12 x 12 Decorative Edge Paper, I didn't use any other paper on this layout!
My last project is a birthday card. When I saw this cute little chipboard bunny with music notes on his belly it just said "Hoppy" Birthday to me! The Fresh Verse Cardstock Stickers come with an adorable alphabet, but I needed 2 P's for my title, so I created one. I used a white gel pen to change the R sticker into another P!

Have a crafty day!

Hello friends! I'm back for Day 2 of our Blog Swap Week with Hello Spring and Petaloo! Today I'll share some super cute gift card holders created by Biker Chick Heather Leopard. Don't forget to leave a comment here on the blog for a chance to win some fun goodies from Petaloo and LYB, and also head over to Petaloo's Blog for more inspiration from Petaloo's Design Team!
Here's Heather to tell you about her projects!
________________________
Hi there. Heather here to show you a couple of Mother’s Day gift card boxes I made using the Hello Spring collection and Petaloo. These two products work phenomenally together.
I know some people prefer to buy gifts instead of gift cards but in my family, anything goes. I don’t mind receiving gift cards and I usually invite the person who gave it to me to join me when I go shopping so we can spend the time together.
The actual gift cards these days are usually decorated with a great themed design but the card sleeves they come with are often too generic for my liking. These are super easy to make and I think they add the perfect extra touch.
I created these small boxes by cutting them out the old fashioned way. No cartridge, just a template (you can get the template by clicking the link!), scissors and liquid glue.
After I cut them and glued them together, which took me less than 30 minutes, I embellished them with a bit of ribbon and Petaloo flowers & butterflies. Can you see those butterflies??? They have a velvety finish to them and I adore them!
Next, I choose coordinating papers to hold the gift cards, making sure that the back side of the papers were light colored so that I can include a personal note.
Last, I added flowers to the inside cards and voila! Oh and I couldn’t stop making them. These gift boxes don’t have to be limited to Mother’s Day. They can be for birthdays, Father’s day, Christmas, anything. Actually, I made the 3rd to give for a friend’s birthday. They also don’t have to be limited to gift cards – the possibilities are endless, so long as it can all fit in the box!
Thanks Little Yellow Bicycle and Petaloo!

Hi everyone! I had a fantastic time with Sharon last weekend doing "Make & Take" cards at my favorite LSS, New England Scrapbook Company, during their infamous "Four Store Scrapbook Tour."
(Sorry Sharon, I know it's not the best picture of you!)
These cards were so quick and easy to make, I wanted to share them with you! Sharon used our decorative-edge 12x12 cardstock for the base (see more measurements below), together with some paper scraps, our Fresh Verse stickers, felt & crocheted flowers and stick pins! You can mass produce a bunch of them, or they're a great way to use up some scraps. Take a look!
And a few close ups:
And here are the easy-peasy instructions!
Cut the decorative-edge cardstock into two pieces, 5" wide by 10-1/2" long, leaving the decorative edge on 5" edge of each card - the other edge will be flat (save the trimmed-off edges for future use - they're just too pretty to throw away!). Each 12x12 sheet makes two cards. Score at 5-1/2" from the flat edge, so the card folds over, leaving about 1/2" overhang below. Cut a 1-1/2" x 5" strip of contrasting paper, and layer along the bottom inside edge (so the decorative edge closes on top of the contrasting colored paper). Cut a 4-1/2" square of contrasting paper, and place on the top/front of the card as your background color. Decorate as you like, using Fresh Verse stickers, Felt Flowers, Crochet Flowers & Butterflies, Stick Pins & Bling! Cut strips of contrasting paper scraps to varying widths, and cut a "notch" in them to make a "flag."
Note: the decorative edge papers have a UPC code on the opposite side, so some of your cards will have a UPC code on the inside - but no worries! Just cover it up with another strip of paper, a Fresh Verse sticker, or here, we used a Journaling Card!
We had so much fun with our friends at New England Scrapbook Company and all of the Connecticut scrappers on the Four Store Tour!
While I was there, I also finished this layout, using the same decorative edge paper (I think it's my favorite!), the Paper Flower Kit, Felt Flowers, and more goodies from the wonderful Hello Spring collection!
... and New England Scrapbook Company DT member Kiersten Schiffer made this adorable layout, too:
But wait! There's more! I have a few sneaky peeks of a fun Hello Spring mini album by Biker Chick Jenny Chesnick ... watch for it on the blog!
So much happiness with Hello Spring! That's it for now! Have a great weekend!

We are so pleased with the versatility of our wedding collection Swoon. No matter who makes a project with this collection of blacks, grays, whites and creams, they all seem to be spectacular. Today is no excpetion. We invited back Cycling Team member Kristine Berc to play with some of the beautiful collection. But let's have her tell you a little more about it...
I waited almost 7 years to scrap this wedding photo! I'm really picky about the papers that I use for my pages, and I hadn't found the right ones to use for this photo until I recently got my hands on Swoon. The collection looks beautiful online... but in person... woooooooooooooooooow... perfectly gorgeous!
I LOVE the paper flower kit which I used several pieces of along with some pretty cardstock stickers.
The self-adhesive jewels and pearls made it so easy to dress the flowers up, and I love that so many of them come in the package.
With the help of an embossing folder, a couple of metal dies, a border punch, satin ribbon, and Stickles, this card came together in no time.
I love the sophistication of Swoon!
Please visit Kristine's blog A Stash of Pretty Paper for more beautiful and inspiring ideas. We love to see what she does with our collections!
Thank you for stopping by!

Mr. & Mrs. card by Biker Chick Shanna Vineyard
Swoon Supplies:
6x6 paper pad
Chipboard Shapes
Decorative Edge Cardstock
Dimensional Stickers
Pearl & Jewel Stickers
When using the Decorative Edge Cardstock products the possibilities are endless. I trimmed this one down to fit the spacing I needed for this card. Then layered up some other awesome Swoon goodies to complete this simple but effective greeting.
Wedding Card by Biker Chick Jenny Chesnick
For wedding cards I prefer to use a larger size card. So for this card I cut my paper at 5x10 and scored the ends at 2.5" to create the tri-fold. I used 3D foam squares to attach my sentiment to one side leaving room for the twine to hold the card together
Swoon Supplies:
SW-106 Wedding March/Elopement
SW-133 6" x 6" Decorative Edge Double-sided Textured Cardstock - with foil accents (5 pieces)
SW-134 Journaling Cards - with thermography (10 pieces)
SW-195 Dimensional Stickers (9 pieces)
2 Families Unite Card by Biker Chick Heather Leopard
To make this card I punched strips of paper about ¾” wide by 4 ¼” long. Starting at the bottom of the car, I layered each strip over the other to make an elegant lacey effect. I layered ribbon and a sentiment to keep the rest of the card simple.
6x6 Paper Pad
Dimensional Stickers
Misc Ribbon
Martha Stewart Scallop Punch
My Heart Belongs to You Card by Biker Chick Heather Leopard
I just love the gold and pearl-like pins and I wanted to make them a dominant part of my card. I kept looking at them thinking about how love can really blossom and grow, like flowers. The paper I used reminded me of a garden trellis so I actually kept the pins in the foam packaging so they would give a popped up effect and positioned them to look like flowers growing in the garden. I chose the sentiment, which includes the same trellis-like details and I think this card would be fitting for a wedding or an anniversary.
Swoon Supplies:
6x6 Paper Pad
Cardstock Stickers
Stick Pins and the foam packaging
May Arts Ribbon
Pop Dots
Check back tomorrow for a Swoon project from Biker Chick Robbie Herring.
Have a wonderful day!

We are so excited to introduce Swoon Cycling Team Member Julie Ranae Murray. She brings a wonderful passion to cardmaking and today is no exception, especially with so many weddings on the horizon, but let's have Julie tell you all about it...
" I am so excited to have this opportunity to share my designs with the fans of Little Yellow Bicycle. The 'Swoon' collection is a beautifully elegant set and SO very versatile for all sorts of paper crafts.
I was very inspired to create wedding cards, as I have a niece who is getting married this summer. I would love to take this same collection and create a memory album to match, so that is next on my creative list!
The designs and subtle textures of each of the papers made me think of a patchwork quilt, so my first card has an 'elegant' quilt design. I used only two different sheets from the collection, but used both sides of the paper. I simply cut them to fit the size of the front panel and rounded the corners of each square.
The 'Paper Flowers' kit is perfect for creating layered flowers. There are subtle designs on each of these flowers which help add dimension to the card. I used the 'Jewel' stickers for the centers...Easy Peasy!
I love how easy LYB makes it to layer elements to take this card to the next level. I added the sentiment & dove from the 'Fabric Favorites', a small acetate rose vine from 'Clear Cuts' and additional pearls to finish it off.
As soon as I saw the 'Wedding March' paper, I knew I needed to use it as the focus of a card. For this one, I created a 'wallpaper' background using not only paper, but a border from 'Cardstock' stickers and paper from the 'Decorative Edge' set.
Once again, I made flowers using the 'Paper Flowers' kit. I love that there was a rosette that could be created that matched the music paper. How gorgeous are those stick pins?
I added the sentiment and a couple of tiny pearls and again...simple and elegant.
For this card, I wanted to use the sentiment 'With this Ring' from the 'Journaling Cards' set as my inspiration for the entire card, so I used a circle die cut and created 'rings' using a variety of the beautiful textured papers.
I think my favorite thing in this collection are the sentiments from 'Fabric Favorites' and this one is no exception. I love the silky texture of each one and by adding a few gems, including one to create a bride's engagement ring, it was a great finishing touch.
Each of these cards was very easy to create if you just think 'layers'. LYB have made this collection so simple to layer, as each element works perfectly together.
I hope you found some inspiration for the weddings that you have in your future.
I thank Little Yellow Bicycle for the opportunity to share my designs today. It's been an awesome experience! "
Wow, wow, wow! Wonderful projects from Julie. Please visit her blog Julie's Open Window for more inspiration.
Bet there are some weddings this month that will need some cards! Happy crafting.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of our friends! Hope you are enjoying delicious dinners and lots and lots of chocolate...indulge for just one day! Today, we would love to share some really fantastic projects from Paradise Cycling Team member Guiseppa Gubler. She has done some amazing work with and we can't wait for you to see it. Let's have Guiseppa tell you all about it!
Breathe it in....Paradise - I am really digging the look of burlap, so I decided I wanted to try it out on this layout. First off, I layered pattered paper, cardstock and burlap. This gave the layout a outdoorsy, Caribbean feel to it. The burlap kind of reminds me of the bark on the palm trees. I wanted to bring back the feelings I felt while in the Caribbean when I looked at this layout. I then continued with the layering.
I used foam adhesive to give the pictures lift. I continued adding foam adhesive under my embellishments and then clustering them.
The title as well as the confetti garland were lifted up with the foam adhesive. I love fussy cutting, so I cut a little flower, leaf sprig, heart and leaf cluster and added them into the cluster of flower embellishments. Finally I added journaling strips. As you can see in the close up pictures, the foam adhesive gives dimension and life to the layout.
Easy Breezy Page - I love the design of this layout. It gives the eyes so much to look at. I love simplicity in a layout and then adding embellishments to make it pop. I believe I made this layout come to life by using a simple design and then added embellishments.
I first decided on my background paper. I then cut up the decorative edge die cut paper from the Paradise Collection and used it as a background to highlight my pictures. I placed this on two separate sides of the layout so that your eyes can gaze around the whole layout. Once again, I used foam adhesive to lift the decorative edge die cut paper and pictures.
I added a fun little pleat to the bottom of both of the decorative edge die cut papers and then a flag fabric embellishment on one and a border on the other (keep in mind that all of my embellishments and patterned papers are from the Paradise Collection). I added the title, flowers and some more fussy cutting and lifted those up using foam adhesive. Finally, I added the journaling strips. If you are wondering...I do go through huge amounts of foam adhesive.
Let's Get Lost Card
I have really grown to love cardmaking. In the past, I have refused to make cards because it was just one more thing I knew I would love doing and there isn't enough time to do all the things I love as it is. Well, as you can see...I have caved in. In fact, I have had more cards published than anything else, so I guess I have a knack for them...who knew! When I make cards, I love creating ones that are a little different.
So, I decided to make this card a pocket card. I picked my patterend paper and attached a back and a front together by sewing it. This is a good way to hold the pocket together, plus it looks good. I then added some flowers, chipboard, stickers and fabric stickers (all from the Paradise Collection) and arranged them on my card. Yep...you guessed it, I did use more foam adhesive to give the card a layered and lifted look. Lastly, I added some twine and made a bow around the flower.
I can't get enough of the Paradise Collection. I am going to have to order some more or see if my local scrapbooking store gets it in because it is perfect for my a lot of my summery, outdoorsy pictures and it is so easy to use. The papers and embellishments make my projects just pop with color and dimension. Thanks Little Yellow Bicycle for letting me use this fabulous collection!
Thank you Guiseppa for some really beautiful projects. You can visit Guiseppa's blog My Creations from more inspiration from her.
We have a special announcement to make on the blog tomorrow, so be sure to check back with us later in the day.
Take care and Happy Valentine's Day!

We have another stellar day on the blog with the latest creations from Cycling Team member Katrina Hunt. She has some super nifty crafting ideas with Winter Twig to put in your back pocket... but let's have Katrina tell you all about them!
Katrina Hunt here and I am SO excited to be part of the Winter Twig Cycling Team. This is such a dream come true for me! I have LOTS to share with you today, including some instructions for making a couple of the projects that I did!
Looking for a fun banner that you can hang all year? Well, look no further, because the Winter Twig collection is perfect for making that winter banner to hang all season long! I also have a PDF that you can download with instructions and supplies to create the banner if you like.
Download K_HuntWinter Twig BannerInstructions
Here are some close up images of each piece of the banner, to make it easier to recreate.
The tree on this piece comes from an add-on sketch over at Sketch Support.
Here is a close up of that Medley Album envelope that I sized down.
And here is a close up of the medallions that I put between each banner piece on the ribbon.
My complete supply list is located on the PDF for the banner, including additional items I used to complete the project.
Next up, I found an adorable snowman project on Archiver’s website. I thought he would be cute with the papers from Winter Twig, so I got started on him! He is a little blue, but he is fun for something other than white! Here is the link for his instructions: SNOWMAN
As soon as I decided on doing him and saw he had a pipe, I knew the Clear Cut swirl shape would be the perfect thing for smoke out of the pipe!
And just a shot from above, so you can see his hat!

Additional Supplies: Brown, Orange, White cardstock, Scor-Tape, Buttons, Hot glue, Fabri-tac, Ribbon, Cardboard circle, Angel Cloud fibers.
Then, I have had this picture since last Christmas (last Christmas, I gave you my heart…sorry, Christmas songs on the radio!) and had not found the perfect paper to do a layout with it. Along comes Winter Twig!
I hid the journaling tag, but attached it with twine, so that it could be pulled out from the back of the picture. I also used some of the Cardstock Stickers for that snowflake and just bent the edges of the top layer.
I didn’t want all my letters to be the same color. I had thought about painting some of them white. Then as I was sanding them down to paint, I liked the way they looked, so I decided to leave them just as they were.

The holidays are fast approaching and if you are like me and still have a laundry list of things to do to get ready for the festivities, you might want to take a break and check out this cardmaking idea in case you need one more special craft item for family or friends. I am using both the Wonder & Wishes and Winter Twig collections today.
This is not a new card idea, but I think the beautiful collections from Little Yellow Bicycle give it an updated look and I can really appreciate how different the cards look with the two collections even though the steps are the same. I challenge you all to grab your LYB collections and try it out too!
This is called a Tri-Fold Shutter Card and it is a really fun idea for adding a bit more embellishment, style and sentiment to a card, mostly because the way it is folded provides a lot more real estate to decorate. It is also really EASY to make - I promise. But not to worry, there is both a Training Reel and written instructions to talk you through it. I used the gorgeous Little Yellow Bicycle Wonder & Wishes Collection for this Christmas Card.
See how it opens up and has a "Pop Up" effect. I love that it has a number of panels to design and decorate. Not to mention how I was able to really showcase some of the specialized collection embellishments like the 10 Things Present pocket.
I love this perspective and that ribbon is really a cardstock sticker from the Favorite Pieces embellishments. You cannot believe how easy it was to make this card! It was so easy that I had to make two of them just to make sure I had all of the holidays covered this year.
This "chilly" card was created with the frosty Winter Twig collection and is a more generic holiday card and can be used for the different holidays at this time of year. I love how all of the blue brown and white go together, but leave room for many shades of good winter fun.
I am smitten with the little chipboard "skater" and had to add him/her to my card. This card was just as fun with the multiple panels to design and decorate and I also appreciate the Clear Cuts with glitter accents, because Little Yellow Bicycle uses "responsible glitter" and it does not come off on you!
Little Yellow Bicycle is so good about the little things. The attention to detail is so much so that the tiny journal cards come pre punched with this fun notebook pattern. I only needed to add it to the card.
Please see the video below for product ideas and tips on how to make these cards.
I have also included a PDF of instructions for how to make this card.

Happy Saturday friends! Hope you have carved out some "me" time this weekend ... perhaps to do something crafty? If so, why not try out these holiday cards, brought to you by our Wonder & Wishes Guest Designer Cindy Tobey!
Here's Cindy to tell you all about them.

I love to create handmade Christmas cards, and while I usually print a photo card to send out, I always create a few handmade cards as well. For both of my cards I used the same basic sketch, but changed it up with different supplies. Rather than creating multiples of the exact same card, try using the same sketch, but different supplies for each card. Doing this helps me use up extra scrapbooking supplies, as well as enjoy the process much more!
Joy & Peace Card Supplies:
6 x 6 Decorative Edge Cardstock (WO-133)
Canvas Tape Roll (WO-222)
Chipboard Shapes (WO-279)
Corrugated Shapes (WO-276)
Clear Cuts Shapes (WO-230)
Clear Stickers Cardmaking (WO-190)
Twine (WO-302)
Jewel Stickers (WO-197)
For both cards I used a sheet of Decorative Edge Cardstock and wrapped it around my card. I layered 1” strips of silver tissue paper over the red patterned die cut so that the snowflake and swirl Clear Cuts would pop and not become lost in the red pattern.
For dimension I added the chipboard swirl with foam adhesive and intertwined the corrugated frame, chipboard swirl and Clear Cut swirl.
Merry Christmas Card Supplies:
6 x 6 Decorative Edge Cardstock (WO-133)
Canvas Tape Roll (WO-222)
Chipboard Shapes (WO-279)
Corrugated Shapes (WO-276)
Clear Cuts Shapes (WO-230)
Clear Stickers Cardmaking (WO-190)
Twine (WO-302)
Jewel Stickers (WO-197)
For my Merry Christmas card I layered 1” strips of tracing paper (rather than tissue paper as I did on my previous card) over the green patterned die cut so that the bird Clear Cut would pop a little more. I also added some red jewel stickers over the berries on the bird Clear Cut for added shine and dimension.

Thanks Cindy for some more good ideas! Don't forget to stop by Cindy's blog and thank her for riding along with us! [Pssst....a little bird told me she might just be giving away some LYB goodies over there!] Next week is Cindy's final post for the holiday season!
Enjoy your weekend!

We are very excited about our NEW Winter Twig collection! It's perfectly chilly in every way and the winter wonderland cousin to our Twig collection from last sping. We think the frost factor of this collection is about as cute as it gets and we can't wait to show you what our Biker Chicks have created for this amazing collection!
Biker Chick Renée Foss kicks off our reveal with this brrrr-tiful page! We love how happy and chilly this page feels and Renée did a fabulous job with the Paper Snowflake Kit - this is a must have item!
Biker Chick Greta Hammond created this gorgeous winter wreath showcasing the patterned papers in this collection. Greta also created a cool cluster of Decorative Edge Cardstock, Favorite Pieces Stickers and Pom, Poms.
Greta - also created this adorable mini with our Winter Twig Medley Album to record winter month activities and festivities. Bet there is a picture of someone drinking cocoa in there somewhere.
Biker Chick Tania Willis created these beautiful winter cards. I think the mitten theme and the winter people are adorable. These are such cute ideas!
Biker Chick Vicki Boutin created a happy page with Winter Twig. I love how cold the colors and elements feel, but how happy they look combined with winter memories. Vicki spotlighted the Chipboard Shapes with Glitter Accents.
Vicki also made this happy card with the fun wintertime sentiment. The Canvas Borders are alwasys a great emebellishment for pages and cards.
Biker Chick Liz Qualman (me) took a stab at creating the little mittens with my Cricut as part of a banner, mostly because I am in love with the miniature clothespins.
This makes a fun little project to hang up for a special winter event.
I also created this page of my daughter playing in the snow. I love the patterned paper with all of the winter words as the background. Plus I had to add the I'd Melt With You sentiment mostly because I am a product of the 80s and loved Modern English...remember that song - LOL.
Renée made these adorable little block to add as a home décor item for this time of year.
We will have more Winter Twig projects from our Cycling Team and a NEW Guest Designer. Stay tuned!
Thank you for stopping by -

We are so excited to announce our newest collection called Paradise! It is the perfect blend of bright pinks and blues with serene greens, and like its name makes you want to visit warm, far off places or just make your own home a Paradise. The Biker Chicks have a few sneak peeks from our CHA projects and I am pretty sure that there is a catolog with some of our newest collections circulating out there....
We also want to ask a few more designers to join our Cycling Team and take a spin with the new Paradise collection. Details for the call are at the end of this post.
It just wouldn't be Little Yellow Bicycle if we didn't have a flower kit in our collections and as you can see the Paradise Flower Kit is full of bright, beautiful colors that are grounded in a warm and natural greens.
Biker Chick Greta Hammond made this darling page using many of the lovely patterned papers and cardstock stickers from the Paradise collection. Love the little bits of lace she incorporated with the Little Yellow Bicycle Paper Doiles and her punch.
Look at the pretty details and the faded denim patterned paper. It's such a perfect blend of brights and naturals.
Greta also created this adorable printer's tray project highlighting the 5 Things Pocket in the Paradise collection.
Biker Chick Vicki Boutin created this beautiful card. Vicki incorporated some of the patterned paper from our Paradise Album Kit into her card which is a great shape and pattern for the beautiful flowers.
Love how Vicki also used the theme of the Paradise collection to show how her family is her Paradise. She really captured the sentiment of happy with the black and white photos paired with some of the brighter elements in the collection.
Biker Chick Liz Qualman (me) created this page of a recent visit with some of my girlfriends to San Diego. I thought the sentiments of the cardstock stickers perfectly captured the occasion. I also highlighted the Flower Kit and dressed it up with LYB Jewel Stickers.
I just love how adding a few pop dots to the cardstock stickers makes them jump off the page. The "free" sentiment paired with the bird sticker shows how my friends and I "left" our families at home so we could enjoy a girls weekend out.
I also created these bookmarks to take along on a trip to mark places to visit. I saw a similar idea with felt on Pinterest and thought patterned paper and cardstock stickers would make great bookmarks too.
Biker Chick Renée Foss created this soft and beautiful page. She also used the Happy Girls are the Prettiest cardstock sentiment which is perfect for this page!

2) Send us some pictures of it, and a little write-up or how-to of how you created it.
3) Post it on your blog, facebook page and any online galleries you belong to. We'll put it here on our blog too, of course!
That's it!
Tryouts for this team are starting RIGHT NOW!

Here at Little Yellow Bicycle our Biker Chicks are busy, busy, busy. Right now you can find many of us working on "top secret" projects that we will share at a later date (a.k.a. Winter CHA). But, today we would love to share some of the beautiful projects our merry little band of Biker Chicks created for our gorgeous Wonder & Wishes collection, mostly because "these are a few of our favorite things." Feel free to break into song... you know you want to...or maybe just hum as you read.
Biker Chick Vicki Boutin created this beautiful family page highlighting our Wonder & Wishes 10 Things Present. There is so much detail in both the papers and the embellishments that you can easily personalize a page about loved ones.
WO-308 - 10 Things Present - with glitter accents (11 pieces)
Biker Chick Greta Hammond created this divine wreath highlighting some of the beautiful Wonder & Wishes patterned papers. Greta also added just the right amount of sparkle to the gorgeous red bow and her pom pom holly berries are the perfect accent.
WO-103 - Merry Little Berries/Green Poinsettia
Biker Chick Renée Foss created this gorgeous altered star banner highlighting the stunning Wonder & Wishes Felt Flowers. Love how Renée added some beautiful accents with the white bows. This will be so pretty hanging up for the holidays.
WO-304 - Felt Flowers - self adhesive with glass beads (4 pieces)
Biker Chick Liz Qualman (me) created this page of my daughter and her American Girl highlighting our Wonder & Wishes Favorite Pieces Cardstock Stickers and used some of the Mini Pom Poms and Twine Spools to tie the ornament stickers to the page. I love how you can easily layer the stickers to add dimension to a page.
WO-135 - Cardstock Stickers - Favorite Pieces - with glitter accents and matte foil (28 pieces)
Biker Chick Tania Willis will be back soon with an exciting new Training Reel featuring the Wonder & Wishes or Winter Twig collection, so be sure to stay tuned!
Don't forget there is still time to enter our sketch challenge this month. Please link your project to the sketch album on our facebook page HERE or send your entry to Peg at peg@cthruruler.com. The DEADLINE is 12/31/11 so there is still plenty of time and we cannot wait to see all of your gorgeous work with our collections. See this blog post for official rules and more details.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Every so often you come across something really cool. When I saw this perpetual card my friend Debbie Bonczek made using LYB's Wonder & Wishes collection, I just thought wow ... how did she do that? It is just the coolest thing. Here's a picture of each of the panels:
But you really have to hop on over to Debbie's blog to see the video of this sweet little card in action. One of my favorite parts of this card: the mini pom poms on the elf's shoes! Cute!
Even better? Deb included a sketch and instructions so you can make one yourself. Go ahead - impress all your crafty friends!
Thanks so much to Debbie Bonczek for sharing this amazing creation with us! Make sure to leave a message on Debbie's blog ... and if you're in CT, you can take a class with Debbie at my favorite LSS ... New England Scrapbook Company in Canton CT!

Hello everyone! I'm here to introduce our newest Guest Designer, the wonderfully creative and talented Danielle Flanders, who will be joining us over the next few weeks to share projects featuring the Hello Fall! collection!
Many of you already know Danielle from her design team work, and she's been published many times over. Here's a little bit more about Danielle!
Danielle has been scrapbooking for almost 12 years now, since her first daughter was born. She began scrapbooking to create a memory book for her newborn daughter. Shortly after, a friend introduced her to card making and stamping. In 2007, while a stay-at-home mom, Danielle discovered scrapbooking sites on-line, began applying for design teams and started a blog to display her work.
Currently, Danielle is working for several manufacturers and still blogs regularly at Homespun With Heart. She has been published in over 20 different publications and has taught classes at scrapbook stores, events and trade shows all over the country. Her unique designs and ideas keep her readers coming back for more! She has a love for creating handmade cards for family and friends and always loves to include homespun touches like stitching on them.
Having grown up most of her life in South Dakota, she is a midwest small-town girl at heart. However, she resides in upstate New York now with her husband and 2 daughters, ages 12 and 6. Danielle holds an Elementary Teaching degree and a Speech Language/Audiology degree, however loves being able to stay home with her girls...and design in her spare time.
And before we get to the projects... a little Q&A with LYB and Danielle Flanders!
LYB: What is your ‘go to’ embellishment?
DF: I love it all! I think twine and ribbon are my favorites right now, they are a great way to add softness to paper.
LYB: Do you prefer cardstock or patterned paper?
DF: Patterned paper gives much needed color to a project!
LYB: What kind of music gets you in the scrappin’ mood?
DF: I love anything current/hip hop that is on the radio.
LYB: Do you like to go to crops or prefer to scrap alone?
DF: I get more done when I’m alone.
LYB: What are your favorite types of projects—pages, mini albums, cards, altered projects, etc?
DF: Cards are my favorite right now, but I love to dabble in pages, minis and altered projects too!
LYB: Do you have a favorite scrapbooking snack?
DF: Hot tamales candy.
And speaking of Danielle's favorite ... cards ... she has two to share with us today!
Signs of Fall card:
Background papers: Hello, Fall 11.75x5.75 Paper Pad
Signs of Fall note card: Hello, Fall Journaling Cards
Fabric circle: Hello, Fall Fabric Favorites
Yellow circle: Hello, Fall Journaling cards

Other: Rustic Twine by Papertrey Ink, Fresh Snow ink by Papertrey Ink.
I just love how Danielle layered the elements on the center of the card - and ooh! The stitching on the edge!
Here's one more:
What a lovely way to send a "Thank You"! This card is simply perfect! Here's Danielle's materials list:
Sweet of You card:

I love Baker’s Twine! It is such a simple, whimsical embellishment and there are so many uses for it. The Twinery offers an amazing selection of colors and I was excited to mix their twine with the Wonder & Wishes line. I decided to whip up a few cards.
Delight Card
One of my favorite uses for twine is to “string” up embellishments. I added a few eyelets to a chipboard tag and attached it to the card with twine.
A great way to keep the twine in place is to punch “notches” using a small hole punch along the edge of the mat.
Material List
WO-101 - Home for Christmas/Red Check
WO-102 - Red Poinsettia/Christmas Text
WO-279 - Chipboard Shapes - with glitter accents (20 pieces)
WO-140 - Cardstock Stickers - Fresh Verse - with debossing (28 pieces)
The Twinery Baker’s Twine (Peapod)
Eyelets
Kraft cardstock
Joy Tag
I often like to work grids into my designs. I like the linear structure of a grid. The lines on the Christmas Plaid paper worked as a great guide when placing the twine.
I punched holes and threaded the twine to give the tag a clean, finished look. The twine also worked really well as a tag topper!
Material List
WO-104 - Christmas Plaid/Dots on Green
WO-140 - Cardstock Stickers - Fresh Verse - with debossing (28 pieces)
The Twinery Baker’s Twine (Peapod)
Kraft cardstock
I Believe Card
A glue pen and a little twine are the perfect combination!!! You can doodle a pattern or write a word and top it off with some twine for the perfect embellishment or title. I drew the heart with a glue pen and then outlined it with some red and white twine.
This is a quick way to add pizzazz to a card or layout!
Material List
WO-106 - Joy & Peace/Little Red Hot Dot
WO-165 - Chipboard Stickers - Words - with debossing (16 pieces)
WO-222 - Canvas Tape Rolls - 3/4" x 36" per design (3 pieces)
The Twinery Baker’s Twine (Maraschino)
Glue Pen
Kraft Cardstock
Rhinestones

Hello friends! It's Day 3 of our wonderful Blog Swap Week with The Twinery! We hope you're having fun and enjoying all of our designers' amazing work!
Today our very talented Biker Chick Greta Hammond has made amazing Christmas projects using LYB's new Wonder & Wishes collection!
Here's Greta to tell you about them!
I loved working with The Twinery product! Such a fun little embellishment to add to any project. I chose to use the LYB line Wonder &Wishes for my projects and the twine colors matched perfectly!
First off, I made a little gift giving notebook booklet by folding 3 sheets of 4.5” x 9” paper in half and then punching holes in the spine. I threaded some grey/white twine through the holes and tied a bow on the outside. To embellish, I made a small pom pom with the twine to adorn the top of my chipboard present.
Next, I made a card and used the twine to outline the edge of the chipboard frame. A fun way to add a bit of texture.
I then wrapped a corrugated tree with red/white twine to serve as garland and then finished off my title with a small bow.
Finally, I made a quick gift bag by turning over the top of the bag and punching holes near the center. I threaded 5 strands of twine through, added a small tag and tied a bow.
I decorated the front with paper, a fabric scalloped circle, stickers, chipboard and those lovely felt poinsettias! Easy, peasy!
Supply List:
WO-108 Festive Red
WO-105 Tiny Tonal Poinsettia
WO-140 Fresh Verse
WO-135 Favorite Pieces
WO-1279 Chipboard Shapes
WO-197 Jewel Stickers
WO-220 Fabric Favorites
WO-165 Chipboard Sticker Words
WO-304 Felt Flowers
Other: sack
thanks,
Greta

Hello everyone! So happy you stopped by for Day 2 of our fabulous blog swap week with the talented team over at The Twinery! I loved yesterday's projects ... they were all so beautiful I don't think I could beging to pick a favorite!
Today I have three more fun projects from Liz Qualman! Liz is so helpful, she's here with some great ideas for cards to take you through the next few holidays!
But before we get to Liz's projects - just a quick reminder to stop by The Twinery's Blog also, to see what they've created for you today - and also to leave a comment here, there, and also on LYB's Facebook Page and The Twinery's Facebook Page, to increase your chances of winning some great prizes from both companies at the end of the week!
Great. Let's get started! Here's Liz!
Happy Halloween Card:
Twine adds a new and fun spin to spider webs. I used an epoxy button from the Booville collection and 5 pieces of charcoal twine to create my web. I anchored the button to the center of the card, punched tiny little holes around the edges of my card to feed the twine through, and then wrapped more twine around the interior of the web. Next, I added spiders from the Booville Clear Stickers with pop dots and the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Booville Canvas Pieces. Finally I added a few pieces of candy with the Cardstock Stickers. You can order the entire Booville Collection on our Little Yellow Bargains site - at 70% off its original price!
Materials:
Little Yellow Bicycle Booville Collection
BV-112 - Motley Pumpkins/Orange Dots with Trim
BV-278 - Epoxy Chipboard Buttons (30 pieces)
BV-135 - Favorite Pieces with thermography and debossing BV-190 - Clear Stickers with glitter (31 pieces)
BV-202 - Canvas Stickers (13 pieces)
Twinery - Charcoal Twine 15 Yards
Fall Card:
It's fun to anchor twine with a button and fan it out on your project. I wanted to highlight the beautiful Hello Fall! Collection chipboard tree, so I added the button to the trunk with three strands of twine and fanned them out on one side by anchoring them to the card with little punched holes. The I added the sentiment from the Fabric Favorites as well as some leaves from the Cardstock Die Cuts
Hello Fall Collection Materials:
HF-107 - Sweater Weather/Delicious Autumn Text
HF-279 - Chipboard Shapes - with glitter accents (20 pieces) HF-220 - Fabric Favorites (14 pieces)
HF-135 - Cardstock Die Cuts - Favorite Pieces - with embossing and button accents (34 pieces) Twinery - Mandarin Twine 15 Yards
Holiday Wishes Card:
Rolled paper makes a unique looking project. I used two different patterned papers from the Wonder & Wishes Collection and offset the measurements for each roll by a half an inch starting with 4.5 inches on the bottom and ending with 1 inch on the top. Then I wrapped twine around each end of the rolls of paper and stuck them in order to the corrugated cardstock paper. The trunk is a rolled scrap wrapped with Cappucino twine. I added a Flower Button Dot as my tree topper and finally a holiday sentiment from the Fresh Verse Stickers.
Wonder and Wishes Collection Materials:
WO-104 - Christmas Plaid/Dots on Green
WO-107 - Ornaments All Over/Green Geometric WO-140 - Cardstock Stickers - Fresh Verse - with debossing (28 pieces)
WO-219 - Flower Button Dots - layered with buttons Corrugated Kraft Cardstock Paper Twinery - Maraschino Twine 15 Yards Twinery - Cappuccino

Don't you just love a little bit of baker's twine on your layout or paper project? To me it just says "happy" - maybe it's the long ago association with goodies from the bakery - who knows? But when the opportunity to do a blog swap with The Twinery ... creators of baker's twine in the loveliest colors ... we jumped on it!
In case you're not familiar with a blog swap - here's what we did: we sent their Design Team papers and embellishments from the Hello Fall! collection, and they sent our Design Team a box of baker's twine in every color of the rainbow and then some! Then our teams got to work, and you get to enjoy what they've created!
Each day this week, both The Twinery and LYB will share a project or two from our Design Teams which we hope will inspire you.
PLUS ... as usual ... there's blog swag involved! YOU have a chance to win some gorgeous goodies! Be sure to head over to The Twinery's Blog and Facebook Page every day to see what their fabulous Designers have created. Don't forget to leave a comment - and tell them we sent you. Comment every day on both blogs and Facebook pages for more chances to win. At the end of the week, we'll each pick winners from our Facebook and Blog comments - and the winners will win a sampler pack of Twinery Twine plus some goodies from Little Yellow Bicycle's Hello Fall! collection!
What's not to love? Let's get started!
Our first projects are created by the very very talented Biker Chick Renee Foss!
Piles of Smiles Layout - Using The Twinery Twine and Little Yellow Bicycle's Hello Fall! Collection
To begin I dyed the red/white baker’s twine to make it more harmonious with the fall colors of this layout. I mixed water and the two colors of alcohol ink and soaked my twine in it for about a half an hour. Make sure the mixture is a lot darker than the color you want the twine to end up. After soaking, rinse the twine with clear water and squeeze out excess. Allow to dry before using.
For layout, I color-blocked two different patterned papers on red cardstock. The photo and ‘piles of smiles’ are matted on orange cardstock. All edges were inked with brown stamping ink. I grouped the large brown branch and two leaf chipboard pieces as shown and tied my prepared twine several times around the entire red cardstock piece before adhering this to the background [kraft] paper. I removed the foam backing from one of the Fabric Favorites button pieces and punched two small holes. I added this piece over the chipboard pieces and tied the twine in a bow through the button. HINT: add a small dot of clear drying glue to the knot to keep it secure. I also tie small knots in the ends of the twine to keep them from unraveling. As a finishing touch I added two green leaf pins behind the button. I hand stitched the zigzag down the side of the journaling card before adhering to the layout and finished off with a small bow, and then sprinkled some green jewel stickers around the layout for a little sparkle.
Supplies used:
HF-103 Autumn Medley/Green Splendor paper
HF-105 Little Leaf Pile/Burnt Orange Knit paper
HF-279 Chipboard Shapes w/ Glitter Accents
HF-220 Fabric Favorites
HF-134 Journaling Cards
HF-135 Cardstock Die Cuts—Favorite Pieces

HF-197 Jewel Stickers
The Twinery Maraschino baker’s twine

Brown ink
Alcohol ink: red and brown
Holiday Cards - Using The Twinery Twine and Little Yellow Bicycle's Wonder & Wishes Collection
Card 1—Stitched Tree
Cut a label die cut using die cut system from white cardstock. If you don’t have one, just cut a rectangle of white cardstock to 4” x 5.25”. Dye Honeydew twine with celery/green alcohol ink as described for layout above. Pre-punch holes for tree in prepared label/cardstock and stitch tree.
Add a small piece of brown cardstock for trunk and a chipboard star at the top of the tree [I colored the star using Versamark ink and red embossing power, heat embossed]. Make card from white cardstock [4.25” x 5.5”] and cut a piece of ‘Joy & Peace’ paper for the front panel. Ink edges with green ink and adhere to card front. Add tree panel to card using foam adhesive. If desired, heat emboss edges of tree panel with red embossing powder [or color with red pen or ink w/ red stamping ink].
Card 2—Peace & Joy Present
Make card base from white cardstock [half of a 8.5” x 11” sheet folded in half]. Add Red Check Paper to card front, ink edges with brown ink. Cut patterned strips from remaining ‘Home for Christmas’ paper [note: the red pattern and green geometric border are next to one another on the paper but to get the other green border along the red patterned strip you need to cut that separately]. Ink edges with brown ink and add to card as shown. Ink edges of corrugated frame [leave inside of frame intact!] and add to card as shown. Cut off bow and small ribbon ‘bumps’ from chipboard present die cut. Wrap dyed Maraschino baker’s twine around twice both ways and secure in back. Tuck a mistletoe clear die cut under twine and secure. Make a bow from a double length of the same twine and adhere to present as shown. Add present to card with foam adhesive. Add ‘peace & joy’ clear sticker as shown.
Supplies used [cards]

WO-106 Joy & Peace/Little Red Hot Dot paper

Hi friends! Hope you had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! For many of us here in the U.S., Labor Day means back-to-school (though some kids have been back for a while!)...
Have you seen the Head of the Class collection at your LSS yet? If not, watch for it because it's on its way!
Today, Biker Chick Tania Willis joins us with another awesome Training Reel video tutorial featuring this fun new collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.
These cards make a perfect "back to school" gift set for that special teacher, or can be enclosed with a teacher gift, sent to school to offer encouragement on testing days, or used as journaling cards on your layouts! So many things you can do with your cards! But first, ya gotta make em! So let's get to it!
Here's a peek at the whole set:
Now check out the Training Reel video tutorial - Tania will walk you through the steps to make the pencil-shaped card in the front!
I love how she used the paper crimper to make the eraser holder!
And now a few close ups of each of the cards:
10 Things I Love About School (have your student - or the entire class! - fill out the pencils for a super special card their teacher will cherish!)
Check out the downloadable pdf for a templated for this fantastic apple-shaped card!
Cutey-cute-cute Elmer's Glue bottle!
I especially love how Tania made the lead for the pencil tip (watch the video to find out)!
Get all of the instructions in this pdf:
Download Teacher Appreciation Cards Training Reel Instru.
Got extras? Here's a tip from Peg!
When you finish the cardset...save those extra stickers and embellishments to make "Lunch Box Notes" for your kids! For many years, I would use my scraps to make tiny cards to stick in the kids' lunches to let them know I was thinking about them throughout their day. You just need a tiny square of paper - or really any shape or size - and an unused embellishment or two - add a quick note - and you have a special card that will make their day.
One year, my daughter saved ALL of hers (she didn't tell me until she brought them home on the last day). Another year the owner of my LSS told me she had non-scrapbooking moms coming in to buy stickers and papers because their kids told them about my son's Lunch Box Notes and wanted some too! What a simple way to make a kids' day! Sadly, by about 6th grade, my kids had outgrown the Lunch Box Notes - guess they were too cool for them! Still, I sneak one in every now and then, and they still like the surprise! You're really never too old for a Lunch Box Note!
Make Your World a Little More Moxie Fab!
Finally one more quick shout out to our friend Cath Edvalson over at Moxie Fab World, who posted this wonderful blog about Head of the Class yesterday. If you missed it, just follow the link! Be sure to follow Cath's blog to keep up on all the Moxie Fab-ulosness!
That's it for now! We'll be back with another Training Reel next Monday - featuring the all new Get Your Game On collection!
Have a great day!

Hello friends! Hope you're enjoying the Sweet Summertime! Have you picked up your Sweet Summertime collection yet at your LSS? It's a rainy day here in Connecticut today (not complaining, because we have had some gorgeous weather lately...but today it's a little drab and wet) ... so I'm looking forward to playing with these beautifully colored papers to bring a little bit of scrappy-sunshine-in-a-package and happiness to my day!
Today Biker Chick Tania Willis is back with another fun and easy LYB Training Reel! She'll show you how to make a shimmery-summery set of cards using layered flower embellishments, featuring the brand new Sweet Summertime collection from Little Yellow Bicycle!
First, take a look at these four fun cards you can create with elements from the Sweet Summertime collection (and a little help from Tania!) ... remember complete instructions are available in a downloadable pdf at the end of this blog post!!

It's Little Yellow Bicycle/Maya Road Blog Swap Week Day 2, and I have some GREAT projects to show you ... this time created by Biker Chick Liz Qualman!
But first, let me thank everyone who has left a comment here and on our Facebook page! And very special thanks and welcome to our new friends and fans from Maya Road. We love how Maya Road's products add beauty and rich texture to our projects - and it's so much fun teaming them up with our favorite Little Yellow Bicycle collections!
Don't forget to leave a comment on the blog for a chance to win some wonderful Maya Road and LYB goodies! We'll be picking a winner at the end of our Blog Swap Week. And while you're hopping, be sure to hop over to Liz's blog, and check that out too [maybe tell her we sent you ;) ]!
You're going to love how Liz combined Maya Road's albums and embellishments with the whimsical Twig collection to make some must-have cards and an album cover too!
So let's take a peek! Here's Liz...
After looking through the gorgeous loot that Maya Road sent to the team, I thought it would be fun to play with some TWIG. I like to keep the design of my cards simple with the focus on the sentiment and major embellishment. This card is a simple 6 x 6 inch base with two of the Twig patterned papers (Leaf A Note/Topsy Turvey and Woods/Pleased Plaid) along with some of the Paper Lace Stickers, Fabric Favorites and Fresh Verse Stickers. The sentiment steals the show, but I added the fabric leaves and the Maya Road Candy Stripe Blossoms to frame it for a dramatic effect.
I just adore the Twig Bird Song paper and thought it would be a fun element to add to another simple card. You can see all of the lovely and decadent design in the paper along with the beautiful birds. To complete the look I added a Twig Canvas Sticker Border, Chipboard Stickers w/ Glitter, Epoxy Stickers and the Maya Road Felt Pearl Blossoms. Super easy to make and such a lovely card to send to a special friend.
Maya Road also sent us this adorable Tea Pot Chipboard Album. Instead of making the mini album, I decided to incorporate it into this larger Maya Road 8 x 8 album. I thought the Twig Bird Song paper looked like porcelain and was perfect for the tea pot.
I added a combination of Twig patterned papers, Fresh Verse, Paper Lace, Favorite Pieces stickers, Paper Doilies, Fabric Favorites, Bag of Feathers and a Maya Road Gingham Fabric Blossom in brown.
The Chipboard Tea Pot was a nice way to add some dimension and character to the project, plus it looks gorgeous in Twig.
All of the element layer so well together, it was almost as if these Maya Road blossoms were made especially for the Twig collection.

Thanks Liz! I think I'm going to make some of these cards TONIGHT!!! But wait! There's a BONUS!
Liz also made this adorable card, using elements from LYB's Tiny Princess collection - accented by a Maya Road gingham flower! So cute!
See you tomorrow with more goodies!
And don't forget to leave a comment for more chances to win!

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! I am so happy to share this amazing cardset from our Tiny Princess/Baby Saurus Guest Designer Laura Vegas!
When you see the amazing cards she has created for us, you're going to want to pull your supplies out and get BUSY!!!
But...before we show you the cards, here's a little more LYB Q&A with Laura!
LYB: Any unique tips or techniques you use?
Laura: When I use stickers, regular or cardstock stickers, I like to adhere the sticker to white cardstock first. Then I cut out around the edges, and use pop dots to adhere them to my layouts. Just a quick way to add more dimension to your projects.
LYB: Biggest scrapbooking ‘mishap’?
Laura: I havn't had any bad accidents in the scraproom. But anything with glitter will turn into a "mishap" with me. Even if it's pre-glittered product.
LYB: Favorite scrapbook magazines?
Laura: Creating Keepsakes, of course :)
[NOTE: Laura is a member of CK's Dream Team - and her studio is also featured in CK's new Creative Spaces special issue. You can see some of Laura's work for CK by clicking this link!]
LYB: Favorite die cutting system?
Laura: The only die cutting system that I have worked with over the last few years has been the Making Memories Slice. Which is a great machine! I recently purchased the Silhouette, and am really loving it!
LYB: Morning bird or night owl?
Laura: Complete night owl. You will never find me in bed before 1:00 am, no matter how early I have to get up the next day.
(Makes me yawn just to think about it!) Thanks Laura! And now, here are those cards I told you about!

Thanks again Laura! Have fun making those cards everyone! And don't forget to head over to Laura's blog and send her some love!
Hi everyone! Wow what an exciting weekend it's been. So much inspiration around the scrapbooking community with all the posts and challenges for National Scrapbook Day ... and hopefully all the moms out there received some much needed rest and appreciation yesterday on Mother's Day! We will be picking the lucky winners of all the LYB loot later today, so keep watching!!
Now we're back with an all-new Training Reel featuring Biker Chick Liz Qualman and the Tiny Princess collection!
Here's Liz to talk about the project!
Are there are a lot of babies being born in your life like there are in mine? In the last few months I have gotten both a niece and a nephew and it seems like my family is exponentially growing. If you are like me and on the hook for a few gifts...how about a quick and easy project to create a set of baby gift cards that are on hand and ready to go. The Little Yellow Bicycle Tiny Princess or Baby Saurus collections are the perfect materials for creating this custom set of cards that will wow all of the new mommies in your life.
This card was made with a unique template for creating the cute little onesie, which is available for download at the end of this post. It also includes the gorgeous Tiny Princess Favorite Pieces cardstock stickers and Jewel Pieces. The warm, bright colors really draw a lot of attention to the card and will bring a smile to your friends and family.
It was so easy to create one card, that a set of four cards was a simple addition. Now I have a few cards ready to send with a gift and no need to stop by the store. The video tutorial below explains each of the steps in the process for creating these cards and there is also a PDF with the complete written instructions. Please feel free to download the template that I used to create the onesie and sentiment on my cards, or download the blank template to create your very own sentiment.
Thanks Liz! Love these little cards! Remember, you can mix and match with the Baby Saurus collection to turn these little girl cards into perfect cards for baby boys!
And if you're expecting your own bundle of joy, it's easy to adapt these cards into adorable and original baby announcements! Just use the blank onesie template Liz provided (below), and make it your own!
Here are the instructions, and the templates!

Have fun with these adorable collections!
Hello everyone! Sad to say this is our last "official" post of May Arts week (though we will be picking a winner tomorrow, so be sure to post a comment)! Thanks to everyone for your well wishes for Brian. He is doing just fine thanks (and already conniving that since he broke his left arm, and he's a leftie, maybe he will be able to get out of homework for a while). Also, I agree with MANY of you that Renee should start her own blog. Her work is SO amazing and she always makes me laugh! Maybe we can all convince her (as if she doesn't already have enough on her plate!!).
A couple more projects to share with you today!
First up is this beautiful layout created by Biker Chick Tania Willis!
I just love how she added the Elizabeth Park Dimensional Butterfly Stickers and Chipboard Stickers to the Bloom Bands paper to make those butterflies pop, don't you? And the bling and pearls are darling! Top that off with the gathered and stitched May Arts Green Twill Stripe and the doubled up May Arts Orange Stitched ribbons and you have one beautiful layout. Perfect for Tania's adorable daughter Ashlyn, don't you think?
Next I have one more card from Biker Chick Mari Aartun!
Mari distressed the Elizabeth Park Birds on a Wire Paper and mounted it on lavender paper - and just added a few embellishments! So simple but so pretty. I love how she gathered the May Arts Lace Trim! (You can achieve this look either by gathering it on strong adhesive, or better, use a needle and thread to bunch it just the way you want - and then adhere it down.)
Thanks Tania and Mari for our Saturday Shares! You can follow Tania's blog here, and Mari's blog here! (And we will keep working on Renee....)
Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win some May Arts and Little Yellow Bicycle goodies! We'll be announcing the winner TOMORROW!!!
Hello everyone! Happy May Arts Friday and Happy Royal Wedding Day!! Did YOU get up at 4 AM or earlier to watch the Royal Nuptials? I did. But honestly, I did NOT get tied up in Royal Wedding hype all day, drinking tea and eating scones and wearing hats and just forget to post this blog!!
Allow me to introduce you to Brian:
Brian is my son and he will be 12 next week. My mom says he looks "just like Prince Harry." She has said this since he was two. I always thought she was wrong but I have to say, watching the wedding today, I do finally see a resemblance. But that's not why I'm posting his picture. So besides resembling "the other Prince," Brian is the definition of perpetual motion and I get a call from the school nurse at least once a week for some minor bump, bruise, or blow to the head. But this time, it was the real deal. Brian broke his arm! So I spent most of the day in the emergency room. Brian is fine, but I'm sorry to be late with this post! I know you've been waiting to see our next batch of projects, and truly, these are just so great. So let me get right to them.
Here's Biker Chick Renee Foss to tell you about her lovely creations!

I have a confession to make: I’m a ribbon addict. I love buying it, displaying it, hoarding it—it’s a sickness. That’s why I nearly squealed when I received a big envelope of beautiful, fluffy, colorful ribbon from May Arts to use for this blog collaboration (I did have to wrestle one bit away from my kitty who was also overcome with insanity upon seeing the bounty of ribbon that I received. Milo and I thank you May Arts!).
The first project I did was the layout entitled ‘Must Have Shoes’.
Another confession: I’m not really one to use spring-y or feminine papers so I challenged myself to work with the Elizabeth Park collection for this blog project. Nothing against spring-y, feminine papers: I just tend to gravitate towards more graphic designs and less ‘pink’ palettes. However even I must admit the collection was perfect for this layout, which celebrates a gorgeous pair of spring shoes I purchased as an ‘homage’ to my grandmother who passed away when I was twenty (and those of you who know my true age know that was quite some time ago :P). She would have loved these shoes as much as I do and I will surely think of her every time I tiptoe through the tulips in them (if you must have these shoes too you can find at DSW…yes, I’m an enabler).
I doubled the May Arts Yellow Plaid ribbon and tied across the page, with a bow at the right end. Doubling the ribbon made my bow a bit fuller and have a few more loops to it. I tucked an Elizabeth Park chipboard fence behind the bow, which I further accented with a chipboard butterfly, a few flower stick pins with epoxy sticker centers, some raindot epoxy stickers and a few self-adhesive jewels.
The word ‘shoes’ in the title are sticker letters that have adhesive on both sides, to which I added pink flocking. The Elizabeth Park dimensional butterfly sticker near the title was embellished with Elizabeth Park jewels and a stick pin.
I made the two cards for two of my sisters’ birthdays (sorry girls your cards are going to be late). Both cards use product from the Elizabeth Park collection as well.
The ‘make a wish’ card has a folded piece of one inch Satin-Edged Pink Grosgrain May Arts ribbon across the bottom and I used a Thin Orange Stitched May Arts ribbon for the Elizabeth Park felt ribbon slider flower. I also tied a bit of the orange ribbon into a bow on the flower.
I accented the flower with several stick pins, and inked the edges of the card. The sentiment is a rub on from Deja Views.
The second card uses the paper flower kit from Elizabeth Park.
I layered a large and smaller flower, as well as a flower center. I held all together with a flower brad (not from Elizabeth Parl collection). Then, I made loops with a May Arts Green Stripe Twill ribbon (my favorite out of all the ones I received) and adhered the loops behind the flower for added dimension and interest.
The card is finished with two heart stick pins (from Little Yellow Bicycle's Cupcake Love collection), clear stickers from Deja Views, a few self-stick jewels and inked edges. Hopefully my sisters won’t see this blog before they get their cards!!
A big THANK YOU to the good people at May Arts for sharing some of their ribbon-y goodness with us at LYB!!

Be sure to leave some love for Renee (because we do love Renee but also for another chance to win some goodies)!
And then, in case you missed it, hop on over to May Arts' Blog and check out their super cool frame accordion book!
I'll be posting a few more projects from the Biker Chicks tomorrow, and then Sunday we'll pick more lucky prize winners from all your blog comments!
Welcome to Day Four of our Blog Week with May Arts! I am having so much fun seeing what all of these talented Design Team members have created! We hope you're enjoying it too! Be sure to let us know which projects you'll be trying!
First up today is this stunning cardbook from Biker Chick Mari Aartun ... just in time for Mother's Day!
(Hmm, I'm thinking ... wow...Mari is so organized she already has her project made for Mother's Day, but I did a little digging and found out Mother's Day is celebrated in Norway in February! No wonder she's so organized, LOL!)
Here are complete instructions for how to make the cardbook:
You'll need:
2 pieces of white cardstock, size 3.5" X 8"
2 pieces of white cardstock, size 5"X 8"
Score all of them at every inch, see below:
Fold them like an accordian. Start with a short piece (3.5") and a long piece (5") and fold them together. This needs a bit of work to get them to fit nicely. See image below:
Glue only the 4 corners, front and back. See image below.
Keep putting them together until it looks like this:
The frame is now done. Cut a piece of cardstock in the size 5.5" x 12", to make the book cover. Use the frame as measurments for where to put the scoring lines for the "back" of the book. Make sure the scoring lines are as close as possible in size as the height of the frame. Cut the cardstock so that the book looks symetrical. Glue the frame on to the cardstock at the right side.
Now it looks like a book, and it's time to decorate :)
Cut pieces of patterned paper to fit the book cover. Before gluing them on, put the ribbon you are using for closure behind the paper (I used the beautiful pink May Arts Grosgrain/Satin Edge). The ribbon will then be attached to the book.
Decorate with whatever embellishments you feel like (I used the Little Yellow Bicycle Elizabeth Park Dimensional Butterflies, Chipboard Stickers, Fresh Verse Stickers, and Epoxy Stickers), and put a giftcard, some money or some chocolate inside the card. Voila!
All the pictures regarding this book is borrowed from wenche' blog. She had this book as a class at an event I participated in earlier this year. So all honor to her for teaching me:) Check out her blog here. [Cick here the Google Translate version! ;)]

Wow Mari! What a beautiful project!! Love the Dimensional Sticker butterfly on the inside! Perfect for a gift card (and some chocolate ... or perhaps a little bling?!). Who is going to try this out for Mother's Day? Or other gift giving occasions? Be sure to follow Mari's blog here!
And next ... Mari is such a peach! Remember her cute little giftbag that I posted on Monday?
Well happily, Mari has provided translations for the instructions! Here they are!
1. Cut a patterned paper to 8.5" x 11" and score at 2.5" and 6" on the short end.
2. Turn and score at 4.5" and 6.5" on the long side.
3. Fold all the scores towards the inside
4. Turn the paper with the outside up. Put your finger or the scoringknife in the cross where the scoring lines meet and fold the corner of the bottom backwards to the 2.5" scoring line.
5. Do the same with all 4 corners.
6. Turn the paper with the inside up again.
7. Fold all the edges and the bag starts to get its shape.
8. Put the long sides towards each other and squeeze some on the short sides too, so that you get your "bag" shape.
9. Make holes for the ribbon.
10. Decorate:)

That's it for today! More hijinks tomorrow! Have fun!
Can't wait to see what May Arts posts! (Did you see that yellow butterfly ribbon in yesterday's giveaway? M-m-m-m-m!!!)

Then make sure you go over to May Arts' page too for yet another chance to win! And then don't forget to leave a comment on the blog also for your chance to win our blog prize pack. Sheesh. So many chances to win! I think we're spoiling you!
And now on to the fun stuff...
It's card day! And I have a few lovely cards for you, designed by our talented Biker Chicks! First up, a couple from Liz Qualman:
I love the blues, greens and yellows in the Elizabeth Park collection, so it was perfect that May Arts sent us this beautiful Solid Plaid yellow ribbon. I added a simple bow to my card, but included a chipboard flower with some bling and two Twig stick pins to complete the look. Love how the Elizabeth Park Journaling Cards combined with the Fresh Verse Stickers make great sentiments for cards.
I cannot express how gorgeous the May Arts Satin Pleats ribbon is in person. I had to use some on this card with just a little bit of the lace trim they sent us. The gray in the ribbon was the perfect shade to complement these gorgeous Elizabeth Park (Fuchsia Flower Dots and Bloom Bands). I simply added a couple of the Chipboard Stickers and a Fabric Favorites sentiment for good measure.
And now here's one from Biker Chick Tania Willis!
Hi guys! It's Tania! Wow the May Arts ribbons go so nicely with the Elizabeth Park collection! I had a lot of fun matching the ribbons to the papers and embellishments in my stash! Here are some step-by-step instructions so you can make this card for yourself!
1. Cut white cardstock to 7" x 10". Fold in half to form card base.
2. Cut EP - 102 Bloom Bands paper to 5" x 4". Adhere to card front.
3. Apply Tacky Tape strips just above and just below the paper.
4. Apply May Arts Green Twill ribbon along the bottom of paper. Trim overhang.
5. Apply May Arts Grey Satin Pleat ribbon along the top of paper. Trim overhang.
6. Adhere "bloom" sticker from EP - 135 Favorite Pieces with dimensional foam tape.
7. Create accordion folded blossom from EP - 305 Paper Flower Kit.
8. Adhere one flower embellishment from EP -219 Flower Button Dots on top of accordion flower and another just beside it.
9. Adhere green lace sticker from EP - 161 Paper Lace Stickers.
10. Cut 10" of May Arts Teal Shear/Line Edge ribbon and tie in bow. Adhere with gluedots.
11. Adhere pink felt flower from Maya Road using glue dots.
12. Adhere three additional flowers from EP - 220 - Fabric Favorites.

It's hard to believe it (yes folks, we're pinching ourselves) but it's supposed to get up to 70 degrees here in *sunny* Connecticut today, and the front page of Tuesday's Hartford Courant featured the Spring Flower Show at the original Elizabeth Park. Here are a few of my favorites (photo credits: Cloe Poisson/Hartford Courant)
...beautiful! That last one to me looked like it could have been pulled right out of the Elizabeth Park collection - right down to the umbrella! Totally my favorite. Love it!
Dare we believe Spring is finally here? Pffft. This is Connecticut. The cold weather will be back this weekend. But we have learned to enjoy it as it comes! The sun is shining and the windows are OPEN and we're not thinking about tomorrow!
And today I have another spring treat for you! A new post from Elizabeth Park Guest Designer Michelle Lanning! We'll start you off with a little more LYB Q&A so you can get to know Michelle a little bit better!
LYB: What's your favorite color to use on a page?
Michelle: Kraft, is that a color?
LYB: How long does it typically take you to complete a layout?
Michelle: A couple hours, sometimes more. And if I am lucky, it could be less.
LYB: Do you use any tools that are not specifically designed for scrapbooking?
Michelle: I sometimes use a plate as a template for a circle!
LYB: What's the oddest embellishment you've ever used?
Michelle: A cupcake liner. So far at least!
LYB: Chronological or out of order?
Michelle: Out of order!
A cupcake liner. Really? How did you use it? Did you make a flower? (Maybe if we ask real nice we can get her to send us a picture!) And now...here's Michelle!!!

Hi there! So glad to be back here at the LYB blog. I have a few cards to share with you today. I chose a standard card size of 4x5 ½. With the soft colors of this line, I decided to use 2 shades of gray as the base.
Card #1 Love Generously, Care Deeply, Speak Kindly
For this card I started with a darker gray base. I added the fabric frame to the left side of the horizontal card. I then trimmed the cardstock stickers and adhered them with 3 Dimensional squares. For a whimsical look I added the fence, birdhouse and butterfly. I finished the card off with some pink twine.
Here are the detailed supplies I used:
LYB:
Dimensional Pop-Up Stickers
Cardstock Stickers-Favorite Pieces
Fabric Frames
Chipboard Stickers
Jewel Stickers
Other:
The Twinery Twine
Cardstock: American Crafts
Card #2 Be Happy Card
[Size: 4x5 ½.] For this card I started with a LYB Doily (love them). I allowed some of the doily to be folded over the top of the horizontal part of the card. I then trimmed to my liking a tear out ticket and adhered it to the right side of the card. To finish the card off I added a mini banner (trimmed to fit the card). The Be Happy Chipboard Sticker overlaps the ticket and the doily. Two butterflies finish off the card.
Supplies:
Paper Doilies
Cardstock Stickers
Chipboard Stickers Embellishments
Fabric Favorites
Mini Banners
Tear Out Ticket Book
Other:
Cardstock: American Crafts
Twine: The Twinery
Card #3 Hello also, I love you
I used a lighter color gray for this card. I fell in love with the umbrella and rainboots featured in this line and I knew I just had to use them. I started by using the canvas sticker border for the top of the card. Using 3 dimensional squares I adhered then rain boot and umbrella. I then added on of the layered felt flowers under the umbrella. For a whimsical look, I added the small epoxy circles for some colorful raindrops.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock Stickers – favorite pieces
Epoxy stickers
Canvas stickers
Layered Felt-ribbon slider
Chipboard Stickers-embellishments
Other:
Cardstock: American Crafts
Twine: The Twinery

To make other versions of this card, use a chipboard heart with the "u" from the chipboard shapes, or cluster several cupcake shapes and/or hearts together!
And a close-up:
And last but not least - I love how she stacked these valentines one on top of the other! What a cute idea!
These little stick pin hearts are so cute!
And here are the instructions! Have fun creating these amazing cards. Thanks Tania!

And, oh, one more thing - in case you missed it, we have MORE Valentines for you - Biker Chick Jen Gallacher did a Training Reel back in November with more Valentines from the Cupcake Love Collection. You can see that video by clicking here!
Boy have we been busy getting ready for CHA. Glad you all enjoyed the reveal yesterday. I do have to say Lori and Sharon have outdone themselves with this collection, haven't they?
But let's not forget little ol' Cupcake Love is still out there and Valentine's Day is right around the corner! So I have a few more projects to share with you. The first one is for a class I'm co-teaching at my LSS, New England Scrapbook Company, this weekend. My friend Julie Wern is a talented gourmet chef. So she's going to be teaching folks how to make these lovely decorated cookies:
Gorgeous, huh? And cookies as pretty as these just scream to be put in a decorated tin, don't they? So I'm going to be teaching how to make this little tin to put them in:
As you know, I LOVE the Cupcake Love collection and I thought the scalloped-edge glitter paper would make an adorable little "hat box" top to the tin. Guess what? I was right! Add a few embellishments, some ribbons, and a little glitter, and voila! Many (in fact most) of the decorations on this tin came off the Great Big Cutouts Sheet, plus a few more embellies (truthfully, the hardest part was saying "when" - I just love them so much!)
I also decorated the inside with a little pocket, to add a little love note, and decorated one of the cut-out lollipops with an accordion folded flower (get out your glue guns, girls, and follow along with Greta's tutorial in the Christmas Delight Mini Album Training Reel blog).
This was the *very first* one of these I ever made and they are so cute and SO easy you just HAVE to try it. Then I glued it to a lollipop for some dimension.
The cupcake in the pocket is also from the Great Big Cutouts sheet. I attached it to some cardstock and cut almost all the way around to make my card. And I tied a little epoxy conversation heart to the bow to finish it off!
So much fun. Can't wait to teach this class!
OK onto more Cupcake Love-liness!
Biker Chick Tania Willis sent me this photo of this super cute layout she created featuring her adorable kiddo Emma:
The "10 Things I Love" sticker is a great jumping point for her journaling and I love how she layered the chipboard cupcake:
More happy chipboard...
And I love how she created her title!
Thanks for sharing, Tania!
OK one more thing... Waaaaaaay back in December, we posted Jen Gallacher's Training Reel showing you how to make these cute Valentines Cards:
So if you're starting to think about making your handmade Valentines, you can find the tutorial and downloadable instructions here.
Have fun creating!
Just a quick share for tonight. Liz Qualman sent me photos of some adorable cards she created using the Cupcake Love collection! Valentine's Day is just around the corner so we wanted to pass these cuties along to you! Liz used kraft paper as her base for a change of pace. I would never have thought to use it but it looks so darned cute, doesn't it?
Here's what Liz had to say:
Have you ever had the dilemma of wanting to make someone a special card, but did not have a lot of time to spend on it? Both of the cards above were made in 15 minutes and because of all the wonderful papers and embellishments in the Cupcake Love collection, were very easy to create. The gorgeous details in the embellishments perfectly dress a card or project without a lot of fuss. To make these cards a set, I used the same primary design of blocking the paper and using a white punched border with a kraft paper base. But, to set them apart, I used different types of embellishments from the Cupcake Love collection.
I absolutely adore the Flower Button Dots and thought it would be a cute idea to use a trio of them to make a "border" between the patterned and solid paper. The Paper Lace Sticker also made a great transition between the two blocks of paper and a nice background for the buttons. The sentiment is from the Fresh Verse Cardstock Stickers and I simply cut it in half to create some spacing add some interest.
Cupcake Love comes with some adorable and rather large chipboard embellishments which make a fun focal point on a project. This round cupcake chipboard piece is darling along with the yellow sweetheart chipboard. In fact, they are so yummy, you feel like eating it. For the sentiment, I inked a cardstock sticker and backed it with some white cardstock and then pop-dotted it for some dimension.

Will you be attending a holiday cookie swap in the next couple of weeks? Or giving baked goods as gifts? Maybe you're getting together with your crafty friends to combine holiday card making with a cookie swap? If so, here are a few ideas to make your swapping and gifting extra special!
Using just a few pieces from each of the Christmas Delight, Savor, and Cupcake Love collections and a teeny bit of cutting, sticking and tieing, we created these quick & easy recipe cards. Since recipe cards are 4" X 6", you can make up to 6 handmade recipe cards from one or two sheets of cardstock and a few embellishments. And, feel free to swap in pieces you may have leftover from other projects you've completed.
Christmas Delight Collection Recipe Cards
The first group is specifically for Christmas baking and gift giving, and uses the Christmas Delight collection.
For the first card:
Cut a 6" X 6" square of the "Peppermint Mix/Frosty Mint Fa La La" paper (the writing on the "Fa La La" side makes perfect 'lines' for handwriting your recipes!). Trim one side with decorative-edge scissors (I used Fiskars 'cloud'). Fold down approx. 2" so card is 4" X 6". Add a 17" length of 1/2" burgundy grosgrain ribbon, all the way around card - use adhesive on entire length except about 3" on either end. Thread ends through a green epoxy button (from the Savor collection). Add "Merry Christmas" sticker from the Clear Cardmaking Stickers.
On the back:
Use the "made from scratch" card from the Savor Journaling Tablet - mount half on a scrap from "Merry & Bright Bands" (you'll have this scrap leftover from the other two cards, below). Add the teapot from the Savor Chipboard Stickers. Tie a piece of ribbon on the teapot handle and affix.
The next card is very simple:
Cut a 4" X 6" piece of the "Merry & Bright Bands/Chestnut Carols" paper - you're using the two 'stripes' with the "jingle bells" verse and the blue snowman band (first cut the page in half vertically, then trim out this section - save the rest for later). You'll want to trim it so the back looks like this:
Cut a 3-3/4" X 5-3/4" piece of "Peppermint Mix/Frosty Mint Fa La La" paper. Add ribbon at the top and a Flower Button Dot from the Savor collection (I used the green and white one, removed the blue button and swapped in a red button I had on hand, tied with a scrap of baker's twine). Add "Joy" sticker to the lower right.
For the last Christmas recipe card:
...you'll use the other half of the "Merry & Bright Bands/Chestnut Carols" paper, trimmed to approx. 6" X 6" square. Fold the striped portion over to form a flap, and then add ribbon trim with a bow. Cut another 3-3/4" X 5-3/4" piece of "Peppermint Mix/Frosty Mint Fa La La" paper and mount. Add a green epoxy button from the Savor collection trimmed with ribbon. Add the "Cheer" sticker to the lower right.
Savor Collection Recipe Cards
Savor is perfect for those "Baked from Scratch" treats - and you can use these recipe cards for holiday baking or any time of year. These cards incorporate patterned papers from the Savor collection, with pieces from the Savor Journaling Tablet (the tear-out "Recipe" cards in the Journaling Tablet make creating recipe cards extra simple), plus a few other embellishments from the collection. But you can mix and match with odds and ends you may already have on hand.
For the first one ...
Cut a 4" X 6" background from the "Whisk Briskly/Bread Basket" paper. Tear out the green Recipe card and trim about 3/8" off the perforated end. Punch out the "Yum" circle and cut a slit along the bracket (I used an X-acto knife), and mount on back of the Recipe card. Tie coordinating ribbon around left-hand side, about 1/4" from side. Mount Recipe card on whisk side of card. Add teacup (from the Chipboard Stickers) at lower right. Tie a knot of coordinating ribbon in a green epoxy button and mount at point of bracket. Now flip it over ...
Trim down and mount the "Eat, Drink, Give Thanks" card on the opposite side. Add the "savor" circle as a backer to the "Yum" circle.
The next one looks a little more complicated but the Savor embellishments make it so easy:
Cut a 6" X 6" square of the "Kitchen Medley/Four Sack Blue" paper and trim one side using decorative-edge scissors. Fold a flap so final size is 4" X 6". Add coordinating ribbon at edge (I used a cute sage-green velvet ribbon) - adhere to back of flap. Cut a 2 1/4" X 6" piece of blue cardstock, trim one edge with decorative-edge scissors, and attach to back of the flap (covering ends of ribbon). Punch out the blue & white circle from the Savor Journaling Tablet. Slide behind ribbon at center of flap. Cut a piece of lt. blue grosgrain 1/8" ribbon about 1 ft. long. Add to back of a Flower Button Dot (also from the Savor collection). It wraps around the entire card and loops around the Flower Button Dot se to secure the flap. Add brads. For the inside:
Use the orange Recipe card from the Journaling Tablet. Once again, trim off about 3/8" to fit to inside of card. Add paper lace stickers at top and bottom.
On the back:
Punch the mixer square out of the Journaling Tablet. Mount on a scrap of the "Bread Basket" paper (from previous recipe card). Attach to back.
And for this one:
Cut a 6" X 8-1/2" piece of "In the Kitchen/Weathered Blue" cardstock and fold so you have two overlapping flaps and the final size is 4" X 6". Add the blue Recipe Card (once again trim off a bit). Embellish with an epoxy button, tied with a knot of 1/8" blue grosgrain. Add pieces from the "Savory Stripe" paper to inside flaps.
On the top flap:
Add ribbon trim and use the blue saucepan from the Chipboard Sticker Embellishments to close.
Cupcake Love Collection Recipe Cards
And if you're going more for a "Sugarplum Fairy" look (or if you're already thinking about Valentine's Day), why not try these recipe cards from the Cupcake Love collection? For two of these recipe cards, we used the 6" X 6" Decorative Edge Cardstock pack - they're lined on one side and are so easy to turn into recipe cards - they're a snap to make!
The first card:
... simply grab the embossed polka-dot paper from the 6" X 6" Decorative Edge Cardstock and fold a 2" flap. Add coordinating ribbon around the flap and tie in a knot. Add the "I Love Sweets" sticker from the Cardstock Stickers/Favorite Pieces. Add a cupcake from the Chipboard Stickers (add a little extra adhesive to the "cup" portion, but not the top - then you can tuck the flap right under the top of the cupcake).
The second card:
... uses 4" X 6" pieces of the "Cupcakes Galore" and "Candy Hearts" papers, mounted back-to-back. Then trim out the smallest lined piece from the "Valentine Card Cutouts" paper and mount it on the "Candy Hearts" paper. Add some fun sparkly pink ribbon and a Flower Button Dot (note you may want to remove the pop dot on the back and add your own flat adhesive so it's less bulky). Add a Conversation Heart epoxy button to the lower right, tied with another small piece of ribbon.
And finally:
... this recipe card uses another card from the 6" X 6" Decorative Edge Cardstock collection. Again fold down a two-inch flap and mount on coordinating 4" X 6" cardstock. Add a cupcake from the Chipboard Pieces. And I just love how this sparkly pink fuzzy twine coordinates with the Cupcake Love collection, don't you? I tied that around the top and added the small chipboard heart stickers to each end and just let them dangle. So much fun!
Have fun making some of these recipe cards this holiday season! Remember to take a little time to craft. It's a great way to relax and get away from the holiday hype, and a homemade gift is extra special for those who receive them!
