Hi everyone! I had a fantastic time with Sharon last weekend doing "Make & Take" cards at my favorite LSS, New England Scrapbook Company, during their infamous "Four Store Scrapbook Tour."
(Sorry Sharon, I know it's not the best picture of you!)
These cards were so quick and easy to make, I wanted to share them with you! Sharon used our decorative-edge 12x12 cardstock for the base (see more measurements below), together with some paper scraps, our Fresh Verse stickers, felt & crocheted flowers and stick pins! You can mass produce a bunch of them, or they're a great way to use up some scraps. Take a look!
And a few close ups:
And here are the easy-peasy instructions!
Cut the decorative-edge cardstock into two pieces, 5" wide by 10-1/2" long, leaving the decorative edge on 5" edge of each card - the other edge will be flat (save the trimmed-off edges for future use - they're just too pretty to throw away!). Each 12x12 sheet makes two cards. Score at 5-1/2" from the flat edge, so the card folds over, leaving about 1/2" overhang below. Cut a 1-1/2" x 5" strip of contrasting paper, and layer along the bottom inside edge (so the decorative edge closes on top of the contrasting colored paper). Cut a 4-1/2" square of contrasting paper, and place on the top/front of the card as your background color. Decorate as you like, using Fresh Verse stickers, Felt Flowers, Crochet Flowers & Butterflies, Stick Pins & Bling! Cut strips of contrasting paper scraps to varying widths, and cut a "notch" in them to make a "flag."
Note: the decorative edge papers have a UPC code on the opposite side, so some of your cards will have a UPC code on the inside - but no worries! Just cover it up with another strip of paper, a Fresh Verse sticker, or here, we used a Journaling Card!
We had so much fun with our friends at New England Scrapbook Company and all of the Connecticut scrappers on the Four Store Tour!
While I was there, I also finished this layout, using the same decorative edge paper (I think it's my favorite!), the Paper Flower Kit, Felt Flowers, and more goodies from the wonderful Hello Spring collection!
... and New England Scrapbook Company DT member Kiersten Schiffer made this adorable layout, too:
But wait! There's more! I have a few sneaky peeks of a fun Hello Spring mini album by Biker Chick Jenny Chesnick ... watch for it on the blog!
So much happiness with Hello Spring! That's it for now! Have a great weekend!
